Help with TW PT Wiring (toneslut trannies)

I am trying to wire up my Toneslut PT but I am getting confused somewhat. The two large brown wires are the heaters and the large brown and white striped wire goes to ground. The two solid black wires go to the power switch. The yellow and green striped wires get cut and shrink wraped and the yellow...

Re: twreck express components

i went with the x-formers from www.toneslut.com seems a lot of people do. it was easier for me to use an easily suggested one than to try to figure it out myself Yes, Moose's transformers ARE from Heyboer and are the real wreck transformers. If moose happens to be out and you need a set, I also hav...

Re: Ampgarage builders

Are you going to build it yourself with Cerritone parts or get a complete amp or kit? I used a Cerritone chassis to build my Express and he has great service and products. Just make sure you choose DHL for delivery and not regular mail at it takes weeks to get stuff from Asia via regular mail and on...

Re: Soldering Station Suggetions

Weller WES51--built 7 amps with it so far with no problems. Very precise temperature adjustment and lots of different tips you can purchase.

Re: Whistling Sound in Express

I bought a piece of aluminum at Lowes that would fit the width of the chassis then cut it to length. I then used small brads or nails to secure it to the bottom of the head cab. Here is a photo of my Marshall head cab which you can see shielding inside the head cab.

Re: boogie express

I've had a Mk III since the last 80's. I don't play it much though. If I sell it, I won't get enough for it. So I guess I'll keep it until I die. Therefore, I have been heavily tweaking it. I have considered building a point to point version. Maybe I should build a Dumble in the chassis? Dumble/Boo...

Re: Whistling Sound in Express

Installed a shielding plate in the bottom (ala Marshall) of the head cab and moved some pre-amp wires around and that seem to do the trick, nice and quiet now.

Whistling Sound in Express

I have been getting a whistling/high pitched sound when I turn my Express volume past 12/1, as I increase the volume the whistling does not seem to get any worse, but stays the same. There is no shielding plate inside the head cabinet. I have tried to change out pre-amp tubes but it's still present....

Orange Drop PVC-612 vs. PS

Can anyone explain the sonic difference between these two models of caps? I have the PS installed in my Express but also have a new set of PVC-612 I may install or hold off for another build....

Thanks,

Allen
