Re: COMPLETE Fender Bassman AB165 to AA864 Conversion (w/ Schematic)
Check your gain staging .the AB165 stick used 3 gain stages in the bass channel plus the mixer with 470K local negative feedback loop around that triode. The AA864 used only 2 gain stages in each channel plus a mixer. You need to lose some gain with either a voltage divider or byoass a gain stage.

Re: Ceriatone AH-50
Van Halen's dirty secret is that the good records were all cascaded heads. :) It was right there in front of me the entire time. A clean little Fender amp head loaded with a resistive load, then line out into a 2203. Holy Moley. There it is. Am I missing something cause I always though...

I too have trouble seeing and cannot read fine print on anything. Don't know if you have a Harbor Freight in London but you can find these online at Amazon and othe...

Re: Friedman KS JMP 2203
Sounds awesome! Did you buy this modded or have Dave do it for you?I wish Dave would come here and participate sometime. Maybe he is afraid we will create a Friedman section to go with the Dumble and Trainwreck forums. I think he would be safe as there is little to discover as far as hot rodded Mars...

Re: fuzz on clean notes.
You said there was no resistor from input jack to 1st gain stage? If this is true it is most likely your problem. You need a 1M going from grid to ground for a grid reference resistor. This also sets the input impddance of your amp. You must have a reference to ground there though and preferably a 3...

Re: TSTT (tone stack think tank)
I'm sure u have tried some version of the 6 way rotary mid sweep control used by Matchless and others. I thi k Cameron used this on some of his amp mods (His amps are the ultimate modded marshall sound to my ears). Maybe try this if you haven't? Or in a different variation alternating mid caps in TS...

Would love too hear it!! (Hint Hint) I've got an old Fender PA 100 I've had sitting around forever that I have thought about doing something like this with it. Re: Upgrading 50W head to 100W head?
Hey! I just revived an old thread of yours with similar question. To be honest it would be far more trouble than it aould be worth and way more money than a 100 watt power amp IF it could be done and I dont think you would have the space to do it and you would have to change power transformer also$$...
