Re: New (Exp) build pics and a question about OT primaries...
Thanks for the encouragement guys. Very nice of you to say. I sure hope it all turns out well. I'll post some pics of it all together when I get there. Right now, I just have a few more leads to attach to the preamp board - then wire the tube sockets and then install the boards and make those connec...

New (Exp) build pics and a question about OT primaries...
All, I have a question regarding OT primary connections. Specifically, I am building a TW Exp usigng the Pacific Transformers from RJ. I notice on Ron Worley's layout (which is awesome Ron) - that he has included a color translation so I can tell that I should connect my purple wire to V5 and my Gre...

Thank you!
Harley Boy and Red Dog - thanks fellas! Now I need to absorb the "negative feedback" concept. I knew there was something that I was missing - and it makes sense now that you say that - but the reason that I missed that point is that I'm not solid on the NFB thing. I'm a newbie - but I'm a quick stud...

OT Primaries "backward" in a Push-pull amp...
All, I'm sure this must be a stupid question - so, just to prove I stupid, I'll ask. I recently completed my first amp build. It's a Marshall 2204 HW clone from the Ceriatone "kit" - with Mercury Magnetics xformers and choke. It sounds fantastic - but when I first started testing with AC signal inpu...

Re: Help for a newbie - Wurlitzer 4600...
Personally, I would start here. It has all the advantages to make a great foundation. http://www.rjguitars.net/Eagle_100.html TM Thanks TM, I have already "found" RJ Guitars and I'm planning to purchase a project from him (TrainWreck Express, or maybe Rocket, or maybe a Dumble ODS). But the Wurlitz...

Re: Help for a newbie - Wurlitzer 4600...
Organ conversions can go well... Start here? http://www.nshos.com/Wurli1.htm Thanks Phil. Interesting link on the 4600 series. I'll start there. I think that the fellow that I am getting the "guts" from also has schematics, but I'm not sure. I don't have the pieces yet, but I should have the parts ...

Help for a newbie - Wurlitzer 4600...
Hello All, I am new to amplifier circuits. However, I can read schematics - and I have built simple circuits by referencing manufacture data sheets and sample applications. That experience was using integrated circuits to build interfaces (input and output) for a home-grown automotive engine managem...

Re: New build ultimate dumble-based amp (1)
WOW - this is very nice work. :!: Can you record and post some audio clips? I was planning to build a TW Express tribute, but this makes me give it a second thought. The Express would be very cool to build and play - but I think I'd get a lot more use out of this design (after the build). Very, very...

Re: My Rocket's facelift
Very nice!
I like the tribute styling of the "logo" and the name is great. Also like the nod to Mesa.
I love my little DC-3.
I'm hoping to absorb enough knowledge here to love my new (not started yet) Trainwreck Express (clone).
Beautiful.
The correct TW cab is very nice also.
