Re: ODS Filtering Question
I have yet to see a real ODS with F&T caps in it, yet we keep seeing folks put them in their amps and expect them to sound like the real thing.... One of the most famous ODS's of all time has F&T's in it. I know we talked about this recently but I figured I would get others opinions on it a...

Re: ODS Filtering Question
What does "grainy" sound like and what might cause this? Alan I’m not trying to be a smartass or start anything….I would like to know. Harsh, irritating especially in the high end, definition and clarity lacks up top and doesn't sing , high end harmonic feedback also subsequently sounds terrible an...

Re: I am working on a Tonex surprise
I don’t know how related this is but there’s a guy on GitHub who created software and a gui to interface with the Tonex One. You can use all twenty presets and have access to all settings. I use it and it rocks.

Re: '67 Deluxe Reverb Rectifier change
I may do that. The 5U4GB is a spare I had.You might want to check out a 5V4 also.

No load 5.64 Vac
5AR4 5.37 Vac
5U4GB 5.27 Vac
Looks I’m ok at around 6%.

Re: '67 Deluxe Reverb Rectifier change
I would pull the rectifier tube out and measure no-load voltage on the 5VAC winding, then plug in a 5AR4 and measure 2A load, then repeat with a 5U4GB. If the voltages drop is ca. 7-8% from the no-load voltage with the 5U4GB, I think it will be ok. Makes sense Martin. I'll do the tests later today....

'67 Deluxe Reverb Rectifier change
Hi Fender People,
I have a '67 deluxe reverb and the B+ is around 450vdc. I'd like to bring that down a bit so I am considering swapping the GZ34 rectifier for a 5U4GB. Does anyone know if the power transformer (part 025130) can provide the 3A of heater current needed for the 5U4GB?
TIA
Alan

'67 Deluxe Reverb Recap
Hi All, I have a '67 Deluxe Reverb headed my way and it will probably need the electroclytics replaced. Is there a brand that is preferred for this type of job? F&T makes the dual section 25uF/25VDC for the bypass caps so I thought those might be nice. Other thoughts/opinions are appreciated. Alan

Re: Bonamassa,again
I see. The circuits with a 2nd eq on the OD channel (like bluesmaster or HRM) feed the whole signal to the OD section and use the volume control of that section as the master.

Re: Bonamassa,again
At around 4:28 he says using the master volume only affects the cleans and not the OD channel and that this is a characteristic of the skyliner. He demonstrates this on the amp. Is this correct? I looked at the #102 schematic and it looks like everything goes through the master volume no matter whic...

Re: 6V6 Dumble Input
My two cents. I built a 6V6 amp with the #124 preamp and it was ok but in IMO it just didn’t have it in the power and tone department. May have just been my build though.
