I'm talking about those 2 resistors connecting +/- from the bias jacks. The layout says 1Ohm, but I'm not sure how many watts they need to be.
Thanks!

Re: Asteroid Chassis Question
I figured it was a general question and that I also would receive a quicker reply here.
I will check Ace hardware to see if they have either the steel nut-inserts or pem-nuts you mentioned.
I was trying to find one of Allyn's chassis. Even emailed him but never got a reply.

Asteroid Chassis Question
Actually, this question would apply to any chassis without pre-drilled mounting holes. Got the chassis from RJ and I didn't realize until just now (started build yesterday) that it doesn't have holes for the mounting nuts. In my experience I've seen chassis with threaded holes or with square holes t...

Re: Komet Switches
Thanks. I ordered the Carling and a couple different brands from Mouser. That site confuses the hell out of me. They will list 10 switches with slightly different item #s and I can figure out what the differences are. This should be fun. I'm using the layouts that you sent me a few months ago of the...

I've had good luck with JJs. Usually just pick them up at Sam Ash, but Eurotubes is a great online source.

Re: Komet Switches
Thanks for the replies! Roe, could you explain what you mean by "moved the coupling caps"? I assume that means that you change the values, but I'm not sure. Also, are you referring to the .022 uf caps? What tonal changes did this make to the amp? I've had a couple Concordes and I want to keep this o...

Re: Komet Switches
I'm currently sourcing parts for a concorde build. I successfully built an Express, but I'm still new to this and don't necessarily understand what I am doing, rather following instructions. That said, these links show toggles that are ON-NONE-ON. To me that sounds like a 3-way where the center is o...

Re: Preamp Redplating?
I'm not technically savvy like you guys so I can't answer most of these questions. Stevem - the reverb works and sounds great Tillydog - the temp pf the tube was 380°F . The plate is actually glowing hot. I'll have to take a photo and ask you guys to point out specifically what I should test. My que...

Re: Preamp Redplating?
Nor sure at all, thats why I was asking. I've never come across a preamp that was that hot and I've owned a lot of amps. I can't imagine it being ok that the tube plate is red hot, but I don't know. I'll post some chassis photos when I get a chance, but in the meantime should a preamp ever run as ho...

Preamp Redplating?
I've never seen this before. Only with power tubes. The amp is a Chicago Bluesbox Roadhouse. Basically, a super reverb in a head. Has reverb and tremolo. Uses all 12AX7's, except for V2, which is a 12AT7. It's the 12AT7 that is redplating. I only found this out because I got burnt when I touched the...

Re: 65Amps Soho went silent....need help
turns out it was just one or both of the 12ax7's (V2 & V3). Not sure which because I replaced them both.
I never had a situation where a bad preamp let to complete silence. I've had a power tube go and the sound cut out but never a preamp. Anyway, sounds great now.

Re: Techs in CT/NY/NJ area
Thanks guys. I never think of Fuchs because his amp/pedal business is so successful, but that would be a good choice. Wish someone was in CT though ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Techs in CT/NY/NJ area
My Cornell Plexi 45/50 needs a little tlc (see link below). I can probably do this myself but I think I'd rather have a pro go through it instead
