Re: Boost

As others have already said, a RangeMaster-type booster is just incredible with AC30/Rocket amps...but you must be running your amp somewhat overdriven already for best results...

Newbie Questions About Newly Aquired Amp...

Hi Everyone, I just picked up this little amp locally for the purpose getting some hands-on experience/experimenting with amps before I jump in to a full build...it was cheap enough so I won't puke if I destroy something. It's a point-to-point amp, and being a greenhorn in this field, there are a co...

Re: Merren transformers

According to my research, Chris Merren is considered to be one of THE best transformer makers out there...he seems to specialize vintage Marshall & Vox replicas.

Re: New cab and speaker problem.

That's good to hear Mark, glad they took care of you...sounds like they have a clue on how important customer loyalty is when running a business...things break, that's just life...how they remedy the situation is what matters most. Hope all is well!

Re: Impedance measurements

Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but do you have the HF drivers removed/disconnected from any/all other drivers in the cabinet?

Re: Trainwreck PT and OT originals. I have em!

I was just thinking Pacific because the OP refers to this company as making these trannys in the late 80's/early 90's.... which I thought was about the same time that Ken switched to Pacifics, as he couldn't get the Stancors anymore...just a guess though...

Are you referring to & representing Pacific Transformers?

Will you be creating a "Rocking Class Magnetics" website?

Re: Rocket too smooth

Did you say what model speakers you're currently running? To me, like others have noted, speaker changes make the most drastic difference between a smoother or crunchier tone...but obviously not the cheapest way to go when experimenting... I agree also with Mark's suggestion of toying with Treble ca...

Re: Trainwreck Songbird 30

Out of curiosity, why do you guys think Ken used some negative feedback on this model.... just for a bit more headroom, or any other reasons you can think of?
Hope everyone's holiday season is going well!
