Re: I am working on a Tonex surprise
This guy wrote a script that let Steinberg Cubase CMC controllers work with Pro Tools & it is now open source: http://www.atom-music.nl/studioconnector/ Multiple controllers could be used at once. He used Bome's midi translator to perform the tasks: https://www.bome.com/products/miditranslator# Cuba...

Re: As seen on TV Jones
FWIW I put a TV Jones Classic in the neck of my thinline Tele. It butters my biscuit but I would not call it bold. More like luscious…. I am not a Gretsch guy so, dunno why I am chiming in. Quiet and well built.

Re: Brownote Foxy 18
FWIW, I built one of these as per the original layout and it is a favorite of mine. Especially with a telecaster. Sluckey's Dual Lite was on the short list with the iron that I had around. The Foxy 18 seems much more versatile than a Lite IIb - that notch control is a winner.

Re: Tonex useful captures
A little rust? You're too kind. I was rather stoked that the capture would sing without the aid of spl in the room. So much so that I thought I would expose myself on the interwebs after a couple Saturday beers. Yes - the software with good converters sounds way better. The pedal is tough to beat fo...

Re: Tonex useful captures
Magic Dust captures. Quick clams to demonstrate the effects update. Recorded into Cubase using the Tonex as the interface - 2 stereo tracks with a little panning after.

Re: Tonex useful captures
Stelligan uploaded a Dumblator into the return on a 6l6 power section on fire. Feed the monster. This is going to be very useful! :D This is the recovery/return stage only of the D-lator into the power stage. "Lator" on I will be posting a gained up full D-lator into power once I figure how much ga...

Re: Tonex useful captures
Ok, now about this mixIR plugin. That seems like a no brainer.. PCM60 on my room? Yep! Thanks! I really like this whole idea. The perfection is cloudy and complicated. The best things in life are ambiguous puzzles. mixIR3 - Can't remember what it cost but, worth the dough. Can rout multiple IRs in ...

Re: Tonex useful captures
What IR from the set do you prefer? The 1 U67 paired with the 3 room tone is great, but haven't played it through decent FR yet, just a mono powered QSC my friend has. The U47 rooms should have been also included as Blumlein and M/S Great captures though! PS: FRFR cabinets are stupid and expensive....

Re: Tonex useful captures
Imagine that this place gets a signature capture set release. Fred's cascaded Tweedle goes on tour. Someone needs to make a 1Gb plugin player that will take Waves vst. I want the Ren set, Altiverb, and Sony eq plus Reel ADT insert in a modded TX. Yes. A hardware VST plugin host. That "Muse Receptor...

Re: Tonex useful captures
I still have all my amps and cabs at arms length so, I don't know why I am on a mission to A/B this tech to death against it. Fun - I suppose. And allows me to play at what is perceived as "loud" all day long without hearing about it in the HOA newsletter.........

Re: Tonex useful captures
Yep. I sold my AC15 as soon as I got that Kingsley. Works all kinds of magic. In front of an amp, in a loop, after the Tonex... My big board has been dedicated to silent sounds since I no longer play out. I use an HX Stomp as an IR loader and headphone amp with ambience. The Squire + Page was my "tu...

Re: Tonex useful captures
Ok, enough magic. Dood, what are you using to do captures? I cycled through several interfaces and direct schemes today but even the things that sound identical do not have the bouncy rebound of anything you have published. I even called a friend my Benchmark set of ad/da is on loan to and left a m...

Re: Tonex useful captures
The captures are top notch, again!! Try something though. Drive an amp 50% more to capture and turn tge gain control from default 5 to about 2-3 to play. Now you have the cleaner tone with the character of the amp roasting. It is a real thing. It is crazy. Just for you! As you can tell from these c...
