Re: Resistor type, quality, location. ???
Also, is there any real reason why resistors from Tayda should be avoided? I recently finished a build with Tayda 1watt carbon films. Their values are pretty consistent. On the down side, i found the outside package of the resistors to vary in format from value to value, and the most annoying featu...

Re: Taking bets!
Another known source of pops is the heater-cathode voltage breakdown in CF's. Is there a CF in that amp?

I'm curious about the PA topology you used as i'm about to build myself a similar beast (no picture). I'm not very familiar with 6V6s.

Re: Merlin's Practical Serial Effects Loop layout
After rolling some resitors on the input voltage divider, I still can't get a hot enough signal to drive my Digitech Jamman. The Digitech Jaman has a "peak" LED that goes bright when the signal from the loop is too hot. I assume this signal to be somewhere arround 1Vpp. But first, let me introduce m...

Re: Merlin's Practical Serial Effects Loop layout
I've just finished installing this fx loop in a Hot Cat based amp, and it works really well, transparent as glass since the amp is on the bright side of the spectrum. I found that the input voltage divider is wrong for my preamp values, i'm just tweaking that. Thank you very much for pulling this ou...

Re: Merlin's Practical Serial Effects Loop layout
Elegant implementation of an fx loop! i'm willing to copy this to my own amp but i'm curious how do you connect the B+ rail. have you created a dedicated node on the power supply with its own cap and resistor?
