Some recent discussion on the send buffer and cable loss (https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=32162) got me looking into the frequency response. It's true that the buffer is not very well equipped to handle long cables with its 250k send pot, and that will be a problem if the buffer's o...

Re: Dumble Sound?

I think it sounds excellent! I definitely think it has some of the dumblish vowel tone and nice mid tone considering single coils. I don't hear quite as much sustain or overdrive in the notes as in Dumbles. Lovely tone, I'd be happy with it. IF I had heard that on a song, my first guess would be so...

Thank-you, in advance, for listening and commenting. -jack https://ampgarage.com/forum/download/file.php?mode=view&id=59104 Mile_High.mp3 Mod Edit: Fix...

Re: #124 Questions

So to recap: Stand up power transformer with a horizontal pan or; Lay down transformer with a vertical pan. Not necessarily. Reorienting the lay-down PT may solve it. Two-Rock seems to make it work. I've got huge transformers in mine and it's as quiet as a mouse.

M
Marcus,

The reason yours is quiet is because the stand-up power transformer has a different magnetic orientation then the horizontal or z-mounted transformer.

Yet Another SSS - Variation on a Theme

This is my take on the SSS based on various information learned here at the Amp Garage - thank-you to those that have shared information for the hobbyist. Information gleaned from MHartman (his take on an SSS) and big thanks to Martin Manning for the revised step filters. Purchased the chassis and h...
