Re: not in with the incrowd
A friend of mine uses 6k6's in a couple of his amps that are for 6v6's and has no problem, he likes the 6k's a lot. They are a little quieter. Don't think you need to worry about the OT. One of the amps is a champ. Works great.

Re: BF Deluxe Reverb - how to get overdrive smoother?
What speaker are you using, i find a 20-25 watt speaker to be much brighter than a 50-100 watt and regardless of amp i try to use at least a 50 watt speaker. Just seem warmer to me.

Re: Switch for Bridging Amp Channels?
I have wired a mini switch into the jacks to allow either channel by itself or both at once. Not too hard, but you have to drill a hole. I usually put it behind the jacks up near the cab so that if it is center it is both, left and right for the channels that make sense, if that makes sense?????

Re: Princeton 6G2 dead tremolo
If you don't plug in your foot switch you need a shorting plug or the trem won't work. The reverb will, but not the trem. Try shorting the hot to ground on an rca plug and use that/

Re: lowering the plate volts ?
You could always replace the choke with a larger one that can handle the power tube and put it in the circuit before the first filter cap. It will lower the voltage nicely. You can read about it in Dave Funks book.

Re: Help with Ampeg B15n diagnostics
Bees wax is a great wax, but it holds moisture if i remember correctly. The moisture i holds can rust from the inside unless you live in a dry environment, i would use the paraffin.

Re: Anybody tried the hubcaps
Weber has sold a 'beam blocker' for a long time just for that same purpose, especially nice for harp or slide. They also do a H dust cap on the speakers be request for the same thing. It is just a much larger dust cap to warm the speaker.

Re: 5f2a problems
Using a 5ar4 will not lower the voltage, but using a Ruby 5Y3 will drop it like a new old stock will. These are great 5y3's.

Re: Speakers in 2x12 cab
Have done this several times and you can get a wider frequency response which is nice. Have used 12's and 8's together and 12 & 10. No problems.

Re: 5F2A or 6G10 amp build
An audio pot is designed to replicate the way the ear hears, the linear is just what it says. Usually you will be happier with an audio pot as the linear will be too quick from soft to loud.

Re: Transformer Swap
Sounds like a plan, but i would use at least one of the original mounting holes for the transformer.
