Re: Conversion: 1987 to Ceriatone Yeti

Have any amp with Fender tone stack and PI? Nope, I'm more of a Marshall guy, and yes I know the plexi was a Bassman copy ;) Friend of mine has a Blues Deluxe, which I like, but don't want to have. By sag, I think you mean it's blocking on the second stage? It looks cool! With "sag" I meant "the op...

Re: Conversion: 1987 to Ceriatone Yeti

Except for too much sag at higher gain settings. The original Yeti has a separate regulated heater power supply, could that be the reason for the sag? Ehm, no. Blunder #2. You see that 2 red wires in the bottom/middle of the board? I moved the right one (CF anode) to the other side of the 10k dropp...

Conversion: 1987 to Ceriatone Yeti

I have too many amps. JMP 2203, JMP 2204, 20th Anniversary 4104, 1987x, and two Sovtek MIG50's. Many of them work and sound alike, so there's only one option at hand: make them more diverse ;) (and maybe sell one or two?) One of the Sovteks is made somewhat into a Sunn Model T, but with the st...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

Hey Harold not trying to tell you what to do but I think the polite thing would be to start a new thread about your amp .I'd like to know all about it it looks good. Although I'm generally in favor of one big Yeti topic, this is indeed more of a topic hijack than I intended ... be right back with a...

Good luck and hope this helps.
All voltages look just fine to me, so up to the next step ...

Shall I install the power tubes, or check for oscillation with my scope first? :?:

Re: My Yeti-clone build

Page 26: Testing part 1: A. Done! B. Wall outlet: 225V~ C. Heaters: 3.5V~ That seemed a little to high, so I switched from the 220V~ to the 240V~ tap, and it went down to 3.2V~, which should be ideal. Keeping it at that tap for now. D. -27V= to -40.4V= on both V4 and V5, not such a big range (Metroa...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

I call it the hanging turret-boards of babylon. :o I'm giving my Yeti build a cleaning and visual inspection now. I don't have the 'era' witching in yet, but I'm too worried there's a mistake here and there, so I'm gonna test it before the final wiring goes in. I use these guides for the measuremen...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

My PT doesn't have a 5v tap so I decided to forgo the regulated heater supply and just do normal heaters throughout. I'm leaving the power amp intact from my 1987 build, so my heaters aren't regulated either. I've read that the regulated heaters make the amp "tighter", which I don't want. I've foun...

Re: My Yeti-clone build

Mr Wright, is it working yet? I've just ordered the last missing components to transform my dull-sounding 1987 turretboard amp into a Yeti, but with a few "touches" here and there. I don't want to drill any additional holes in my Marshall 1987x chassis, so I want to try to use the jack inputs for sw...
