Here my TW Express previously the mod, with 10k grid stopper in first stage and without coax and gridstopper in second stage.

Re: Express oscillation solved

I thought 10K was the grid stopper of choice on an Express. As far as I gather K.F. preferred no stopper, but that didn't work out in many cases so he used the 10K. The coax on the wiper is a good idea as it is a sensitive spot on most amps. There is a picture of a Liverpool built by Dave Funk wher...

Express oscillation solved

Hi guys, almost 5 years ago I built a TW Express using ampgarage express files. The amp sounded amazing but I heard a strange hiss or edge oscillation on the the top of saturated sound. So I decided to left behind... after lot of time I talked with a friend of mine electronic engineer and he suggest...

Dumble setting and Dumble clone archives

Hi guys, like you I’m a big fun of Dumble clone amp. But unfortunately I’m not familiar with amp setting, so could be fine post here your favorite amp setting such as, tone staking, OD trim set, Drive, Ratio presence, PAB on/off and even the twick/mod you did. So attaching some clips or YouTube link...

Re: High plate - low plate

I’m not a technician as you but only using my ears, the difference between high plate and low plate are: low plate big low in clean and more gritty distortion (Marshall like), high plate more gain but a fuzzy thin distortion. This is what I found experimenting with my ceriatone FM 50. Sent from my i...

Is this available on iTunes?

No, direct download/streaming or cd from that link.

I hate Apple and all they stand for.

Re: 124 low volume in clean channel

Looks reasonable to me. I am a single-coil guitar guy, though, so ymmv. It's really up to you though... This is a very versatile amp, capable of a wide range of tones. The MV bright cap is another place you can tweak, especially if you are playing at low volume. I have 30P there. 30 pF silver mica ...

Re: 124 low volume in clean channel

Ah yes, that is something that is not well understood by those unfamiliar with ODS. More clean volume means more overdrive, since the "channels" are cascaded. One other difference in my amp is I have 330p snubbers on the OD stages. No need for a treble cut. Did you mean 330pF despite 270pF? Sent fr...

Re: 124 low volume in clean channel

Nice mood in Italy maybe a solved the problem: So, If I turn volume up to 7 (panel value)the clean level becomes quite the same of the OD with level (ratio) pot set on 12 O’clock (5 on panel). OD trimmer set on 25k and OD gain on 7-8. Maybe I didn’t understand the way to set a Dumble overdrive IMG_9...

124 low volume in clean channel

Yes, exactly as on the layout/schematic in the thread files. I didn't use the FET circuit, but everything else is exactly as is. The OD is a bit toppy going from the clean sound I like but I just roll the tone back on the guitar to about 6 on my Humbucker tele. Some like the Dumbleator because it t...

Re: 124 low volume in clean channel

#124 sounded nothing like Robben Ford to me, I changed mine over to #102 specs and it's a lot better in that respect. If you're after the early 'talk to your daughter' tone I'd go with the bluesmaster. His sound now with the #102 is not like it was on that album. Have a listen to some of the demo's...

Re: 124 low volume in clean channel

My first experience with Dumble ODS circuit was a Ceriatone OTS FM 50 Watt (#102 as you know). Clean is great but OD is fuzzy and less low frequencies (I’ll rebuild). That actually disappointed me, so after 5 years I’ve decided to build #124 low plate. As some people here I was looking for the Robbe...
