Re: Express 1K 5W vs 1K 25W

Thanks for lot of replies guys. Yesterday I've played for 1 hour with THD hot plate 8 Ohm attenuator, after turning off the amp and discharged the circuits, I try to touch the 5W film resistor and this one was warm but not hot. With a friend of mine and his oscilloscope we did a complete analysis of...

Express 1K 5W vs 1K 25W

Hi guys, recently I built a TW Express using all correct value stuff. After 2 days of playing I've noted a strange fuzzy sound when I played with lowest guitar volume pot. The sound was sinusoidal. After spent lot of time with oscilloscope, I did multimeter test with a friend of mine while he played...

The Mallory TC series are not that plentiful and stoopidly e

Mallory doesn't exist anymore, was acquired by Cornell Dubilier years ago but the capacitors code are the same. These are Mouser's codes about... 598-WBR40-350A, 598-WBR20-450A. They are very expensive. I used F&T and TreC. Sprague Atom are still suitable but ever expensive.

Cheers

Re: Trainwreck blank chassis made in Italy

These are my classic tone set. As you can see inmadout look very different. Inmadout are my favorite Italian transformers but IMHO they have to change trafos bell in order to achieve the original shape of transformers they want to reproduce

Re: Trainwreck blank chassis made in Italy

For my TW clone I used classic tone set, cheap and fast. A friend of mine placed an order to mercury Magnetics for a TW set. Very expensive but I eager to to do a comparative sound test about these two sets.

Re: Trainwreck blank chassis made in Italy

I'm a proud owner and user of inmadout transformer, they sound great, very great! I've used them to build a sir #36 clone (Marshall 1959 transformers set) this is the link http://youtu.be/bdTPyOmkFHE
The only thing they have to improve is the external design

Re: 120 vac pilot light on 124/220 vac secondary

Thank Structo, but I've got a vintage amber jtm 45 pilot light in order to get the best clone as possible, otherwise if could be available a 6,3 vac marshall vintage pilot light I'll buy now even if it is on the moon 😂😂😂😂😂

Re: 120 vac pilot light on 124/220 vac secondary

Oh Martin,
such shame...
When I've opened the TAD order page I've seen the matched product but for strange reasons the 56K 2W resistor was the issue I had previously bought and I've though was a little reminder...
