Re: Dumble Pics

Nigel Sure. When I get my build done, we will have to A/B them together just for giggles. Hmmm, Funk has me thinking that I should try a 100W Marshall PT just for comparison. Always happy to stand on the shoulders of giants. hehe Funk Just BTW, I measured the B+ at the first filter cap on Nigels amp...

Re: Dumble Pics

Funk You do good work my friend! I love that amp. So what made you decide to try the Dynaco OT? My buddy Pete Faragher had the amp before Nigel. I believe he was the guy that bought it from your friend in Allen Park. You might be interested to know it now resides in Toronto, where the two gear monst...

Re: Dumble Pics

Nigel Oh, that is so funny! I think I recognize that amp, too! So is this the amp that Pete F. would never trade? I'm not sure who is the bigger gear junkie, you or him. Unbelievable! Just to add to what Nigel said, this is far and away the best Dumble-style amp I have ever heard. I don't know if it...

Funk

I would probably be interested in "the whole shebang". Not sure about trannies, but let us know what you have access to there.

Cheers,

Skrydstrup Amps

Anyone familiar with these amps? They seem to be Dumble-ish in origin. If so, any insights as to what is going on inside? Their sounds clips are really good. It doesn't hurt that the recording was done well. Check them out at http://www.skrydstrup.com/Ukendt%20kunstner/Ukendt%20album%20(03-06-2005%2...

Re: Sweet...

[quote="dogears"]The CR Sig is essentially a Hybrid A with the 220/150 combo values. I have to say that this is true. When I traced out the curcuit I had every intention of drawing it up from scratch. As I got in there, I realized it was the Hybrid A schem, and just imported it in to Corel Draw. It ...

Re: Sweet...

I recently got a chance to see the guts of a Two-Rock Custom Reverb Signature. Does anyone know what transformer company has the prefix 166? The PT is labelled 166-0451 / 40-16961 50W Multitap w Relay Winding and the OT is labelled 166-0409 / 40-16849 4-8-16 Taps. Both the PT and the OT looked ident...

Re: pacific transformers?

I just called them at 1-800-325-0501. I talked to Amy.

And BTW, I lied. I did have the cost per unit on file;

PT 25475 $98.29
OT 25525 $79.15

Re: pacific transformers?

I ordered a set a month ago, so they are definitely available.

They are $177.44 total for both PT/OT. I don't remember the price for each.

Re: Glowing EL84 in Two Rock (and hello)

Hi Gain You have done something I have toyed with for a while, build a Wreck that covers all of the schematic variations. Can you tell us how you implemented the switches? Ie., how you wired the treble pot/slope resistor switches and what type of switch you used for each? I am plotting building a wr...

RICH MOD

Wayne

Are you saying that the "ground lugs" of the dual 500K pot has the raw bias voltage on it?

That is what it sounds like if the wire that attaches those two lugs goes to the junction of the 2 x 220K resistors.

Re: Simplest Master Volume EVER

Nope. When dialed all the way down the PI receives 0 signal.

You might want to check your wiring. Is it possible you put it on the feedback side vs the PI input side?

Re: Andy Fuchs is now marketing a Trainwreck Express style amp

I was kinda hoping you would drop by the group Andy, and thanks for the clarifications to the gooping question and the overview of the Train 45. The tone I tried to set with my original post was, "A lot of respect, and one question." Since I suspected you may join us prior to writing it, I hope that...

Re: Andy Fuchs is now marketing a Trainwreck Express style amp

Doc My Fuchs modded amp is a '99. I admittedly haven't seen inside either one of his newer amps or mods since. You would think that once you hit a certain size, have dealers and can't reasonably service every amp yourself, that gooping would be detrimental to your business. If companies do it, then ...

Re: Andy Fuchs is now marketing a Trainwreck Express style amp

I own a Fuchs modded Traynor. I have to say that; - the amp rocks - the construction quality is first rate - Andy is a VERY good guy to deal with I really feel that he has started out his business the right way. Go slow and take care of customers. My hat is off to him for that. The one thing that bo...
