Thanks Normster

Thanks Normster for your many generous contributions. Your assembly guides are of great help and I believe everyone using them knows the dangers involved in amp building. I always trouble shoot with one arm behind my back, so if I touch something I shouldn’t, juice doesn’t go through my heart.

Re: Dumble ??? Continued

Thanks for your advise. It seems the kits are in short supply, so as a plan B, I have a BOM and excellent layout pics and schematics. I am planning a scratch build if the kit is back ordered at the time of purchase. Is it really true that they do not have any more kits?! Thanks for your reply. I as...

Dumble ??? Continued

Thanks for your advise. It seems the kits are in short supply, so as a plan B, I have a BOM and excellent layout pics and schematics. I am planning a scratch build if the kit is back ordered at the time of purchase. If I scratch build the chassis, what is the best tube position? Upright, upsidedown,...

Need Dumble Advise

I was drawn to this forum because of the Trainwreck Amp. But it seems the Dumble Amp might be better suited for my sound. I am clueless as to what is available today. Does someone make a kit, are there commercial renditions available? I used to be a tube Hammond Organ Tech and believe I could build ...

Clean headroom

Has anyone ever tried a non linear volume pot in place of the original on a Ceriatone? Some Hammond Organs used non linear pots on the expression pedals so you could move into full volume with a slower taper. It seems this would help tune in different sweet spots. What about Bournes 10 turn pots? Ju...

Blues Harp

Thanks for the reply Rich. This looks like it might be useful for guitar also in lower volume situations.

Trainwreck For Vocals & Harmonica

Has anyone ever experimented with your amp build for small club vocals or bluesharp? I know there's alot more dynamic range using guitar, but I wonder what the vocal texture would be like using a Trainwreck.

Gibson EH150 Amp

I'm new to the group but have been lurking here awhile. I've heard some really good tone over the years and probably have went through a million dollars worth of guitars by today's prices. Possibly the best amp tone I've heard is from a cathode biased 1936 Gibson EH150 amp. It was a little noisy and...
