my experience
The dip relays are the smallest ones you want to play with for this purpose, mostly due to price. I looked into micro relays (about the size of a pinky nail!), which I bought surplus. I loved them, except they were about two dollars surplus, and when I tried to buy them retail, they were fifteen to ...

Hotrod
If you wish to discuss this privately, I would gladly do it in at any level of detail you wish. :) I would rather whine over a PCB amp produced in fairly large numbers for 3-4k than a hand wired amp for 5-6k especially if it sounds great, I have been repairing amps for number of years and hate worki...

I would rather whine over a PCB amp produced in fairly large numbers for 3-4k than a hand wired amp for 5-6k especially if it sounds great, I have been repairing amps for number of years and hate working on PCB amps as much now as I did in the beginning, especially backsatge on the road, usually a ...

The sad part about patents.....
According to US Patent law, one can obtain a patent not just for original ideas, but for improving on the "prior art" or for combining two or more items (which may have already been patented by others) in a novel way. There have been some really good points made in this thread. The sad reality in a...

There may be a Bruno pic or two on the web or this site someplace. I submitted one here, and got beat-up for it, so forgive me if I don't post anymore.

goes either way....
I've achieved the quietest results with a DC lifted AC line (if not doing true DC heaters). The basic idea is to minimize the DC voltage differential between the cathode of a preamp tube and it's heater. 1-M over a 2.2-K (half watts fine) off a 400-V supply (approximate) with a small (1-UF or even s...

My experiences
Despite claims to the contrary (that Bruno doesn't clone), of the two I have worked on, both were clones of 70's Dumbles, with 100-K/1.5-K plate loads, no HRM or post od tone stacks. All were built on steel chassis (which appear to be the same ones used for other Bruno models), turret board construc...

The difference between boutique and production stuff
My friends buy amps, then the designer makes an upgrade 1 month later and wants to charge my friend for the update to make his amp sound better I'm not understanding the "real" problem with this thread. We started out discussing an endorser choice, and now we're bemoaning "your friend" and his upda...

Two Rock
The Two-Rock Sterling ia/was reputedly a clone of a Steel String Singer, but costs about $ 10,000. Mystic amps made a clone (I believe), but not sure if they are still available or how many are around.

Re: Thanks.....
I really didn't understand why he didn't understand. Not trying to start anything Again I think Andy understands where I'm comming from, it has NOTHING to do with Fuchs making this kind of amp, it was about the choice of artist to be the center piece of it. Tweaking for NAMM? can you really hear an...

Thanks.....
Great sounding amp Andy. Not my style of playing but I hear some really great potential for that amp. I'd bet you could coax some nice smooth Warren Haynes type flutey neck PU tones out of that one, not to mention the straight ahead overdriven lead possibilities. Great addition to the family, best ...
