5f1 bad distortion
Hi, I recently built a 5f1 clone and im having some weird issues with it. It worked fine and sounded good for the first month or so, until i decided to start tinkering with the nfb resistor. At once point, i decided to disconnect the 220k resistor that goes from the coupling cap to ground to get a b...

marshall ma100h
So about 5 years ago, i bought a marshall ma100h, before i knew much about tube amps. I saw it for around 700 bucks, thinking it was a great buy. After about 6 months of use, i decided it sounded absolutely deplorable, and it sat in my closet until this morning, when i decided to give it another go....

Re: 2061x combo cab
Another question, would it be possible to mount the amp inside a combo cab using it's current chassis? The one ive used was intended to go in a head, so the tubes are on top, and im not sure if that would be alright or not.

Re: ceriatone 20 watt lead and bass noises
hello, again.
My problem has been solved. After months of trying to fix these noise issues, i found the source. The rectifier diodes. Put a new pair of those and the noise was reduced to an acceptable level of 60hz hum. Thanks for the help and suggestions, they are greatly appreciated!

2061x combo cab
Hi,
Ive built a marshall 2061x, and i'd like to put it in a 2x10 combo cab. Anybody know of a custom cab company that would be able to do that for me?
Thanks!

Re: recommendations for next amp build
+1 on the marshall 2061x. Absolutely wonderful, if you dont have a problem with a solid state rectifier. I like it more than any 18 watter i've ever played/heard.

Re: ceriatone 20 watt lead and bass noises
Well, After reflowing every possible joint and changing all of the caps, there was no improvement in either noise. But something rather interesting happened today. I was tapping around with a chop stick to see if i could make the noise change at all. I barely moved the wire between the 480 ohm resis...

Just checked the orange drops. One lead on the .0047 looks a little loose. Could thay be the crackling issue?

Re: ceriatone 20 watt lead and bass noises
Pulling v1 has no effect, pulling v2 quiets it considerably, but the noises are still there. Ill check the orange drops when i get home today. Also i did resolve the problems from that other thread just by replacing the coupling caps.

ceriatone 20 watt lead and bass noises
Hi. I built a ceriatone 20 watt lead and bass amp a few months back; this is my 3rd post about this amp. Ive been getting some really bad hum and a bunch of crackling through the amp. The hum is effected by all the pots, and the crackle as well. Occasionally ill get a loud crackle even when all the ...
