I deleted the offending post and disabled the account. The user has a series of normal looking posts so I emailed them asking if they know about the spammy post. It's highly likely their computer has been compromised or something similar.

best guess on that is there's some kind of cookie problem with your browser. For giggles try logging in with a different browser or in 'incognito' mode and see if it persists. Probably some global level blocking the hosting provider does but that's just a guess. Nothing in the software would natively block VPN connections.

Yes, again, though, it's newer technology and some here aren't as tech savvy. I set it up because a few here wanted it, and it had a bit of traffic for a while but is mostly silent now.
