Thanks for the reply.
Very few I have seen (of the 60's ones) do not have piping and I think its only the 1688TN's (at least what I have seen).
Was wondering if maybe they had been re-covered but that's unlikely.

Supro Amp With no Piping Around Cabinet
Hi All, I have been looking at 1960's Supro amps lately and see a handful (mostly in Canada) that do not have the piping around the cabinet. Anyone know if export amps didn't get the piping? Re: Fender Tone Stack With Different Bass Pot Wiring
Hey pdf64,
Thanks! Good catch that C2 is in series. I realized it was in series with C41 going to the other channel but missed the fact the tone stack caps are also.

Re: Fender Tone Stack With Different Bass Pot Wiring
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about it some more and yes, I see now its the same thing. I guess it was just the way it was drawn was confusing when I first looked at it.

Fender Tone Stack With Different Bass Pot Wiring
Hey All, Working on some mods to a Crate VC3112 I have the lead channel sounding pretty good and now I'm on to the clean channel. Looking to get some help understanding what the effect of wiring the bass pot differently will do. I'm using the Duncan Tone Stack Calculator and looking at the Fender st...

Re: Does Feedback Need to Change When Pulling Two Output Tubes?
So I tried it last night at practice with the two tubes pulled (still using the 2x12 cab) and indeed it does make a noticeable difference. I was not playing any quieter than before (with the 4 tubes in) but I did have to raise the volume control up more to achieve the same “playing with band” level ...

Re: Does Feedback Need to Change When Pulling Two Output Tubes?
Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm really just trying to understand if the math above is correct. If it is, I guess it would mean that feedback resistors do need to be adjusted to maintain the same amount of feedback in dB and actually get the full dB reduction expected. Anyway it would be only aro...

Does Feedback Need to Change When Pulling Two Output Tubes?
Hi All, I'm playing around with a "6V6 Plexi" style build and currently I have 4x6V6 in a Super Lead / Bassman style circuit. I'm planning on running it with two of the tubes pulled and I started thinking about the negative feedback as no one seems to mention this when discussing pulling two tubes t...

Thanks for confirming the plates are hooked up after the 1K resistor.

Magna-Vox (Inspierd by Vox AC10 SRT Build)
Hey all, So I too got inspired to try out a Vox AC10 SRT amp as shown on the Doug and Pat show so I built up the closest thing I could out of the parts I had around. I started with an old Magnavox amp I had picked up off of the local Craigslist for $60.00 and used the parts to build a SRT (Stripped ...

Re: Vox AC-10 SRT circuit questions
I'm intrigued by this amp too and have been reading your posts about the trem and reverb... Maybe I'm crazy for thinking this but if you strip out the tremolo and reverb the circuit seems to be heavily influenced by a 5E3 deluxe. Regarding the input jacks it looks to me like the amp matches the way ...

Help With Ampeg Pilot Lamp
Hi All, I am trying to rewire the power supply on an old Ampeg G15 that someone disassembled and left abandoned some time ago. My question is about the way the pilot light was originally wired. Looks like it runs off of DC from the 270K resistor at point "K". Seems that 1/2 of the power switch was u...

Re: Univox U-50 Lead Output Transformer
I finally had some time to do some more troubleshooting. First I disconnected the preamp ahead of the PI and drove the output with another preamp and got the same result (low output). Next I disconnected the NFB and the mystery winding - also no improvement. An engineer friend of mine suggested an a...
