Re: Effects loop for SV20ish amp
I don't have a master volume nor do I want one for this amp, maybe that's the problem

Re: Effects loop for SV20ish amp
Built a high voltage effects loop using lnd150s and got a whole lotta loud blaring noise with the volume me knobs down. Tried the unbuffered aproach and found it to be to my liking. A bit of loss but sounds natural with nothing added. I can live with that ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Effects loop for SV20ish amp
I wanted to use a loop so I'm not tied to using another amp just to get effects. Someone suggested trying a non buffered loop dirctly between the stack and PI. I might start there, if that does not work, I will probably build a LND150 based circuit. a shame I ordered some TL072s already.

Effects loop for SV20ish amp
Hello. I have a newly built 1987 plexi circuit which is cathode biased. I'm very pleased with the sound, but I'd really love to add my reverb and delay pedals. Using them in front sounds terrible. I'm currently using an attenuator and experimented with running the LINE out into the reverb and then i...

PT dual secondaries
Looking at this power supply, is there a reason one can't use two separate PTs to achieve this?

Re: sv20h circuit question
I could but I'd have to reign it in quite a bit. So I would save money by not buying those huge PTs.

sv20h circuit question
I've been studying the sv20 schem against the 1959 SLP schem and found them nearly identical, sans the power amp. so then isn't a sv20 a 1959 with a smaller PT? I love the sound clips but at nearly 1900 dollars and the cheap pcb construction, why would I not build a quality 1959 plexi and just use l...

6g2 Great bass amp
Hello, I've recently build a Brownface g62 clone and discovered that not only is it a nice guitar amp, but also great for bass. Clearly it can't compete with your buddy's marshall 50 watt, but it does stay clean pretty long on the dial and the tremolo is groovy. For small clubs or studio it's the ca...

Re: 6g2 blocking distortion at high volume
NOW were talkin'! I put some 47k grid stoppers in and I'm happy with the results. full vol has a little saturation and backing it off a bit gives a rich, warm edge. With the tremolo on, it can do "Born on the Bayou" perfectly. Time to put her in a cabinet. Thank you all again. ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: 6g2 blocking distortion at high volume
Ok I tried the higher PT tap and it may be a smidge louder but same tone over all. I'll stick with the lower. I will experiment with the grid stopper values and be done. I think a little fuzz at the end of the volume travel can be kind of useful, so long as it doesn't cut out. Thank you all

Re: 6g2 blocking distortion at high volume
Yeah I don't want to make it what it's not, I want to make it perform like it should.

Re: 6g2 blocking distortion at high volume
One last question though, I built an Express last year and it had a very high and strong B+ which made it stay clean until excruciating volume. My PT has a dual tap, now if I would use the higher one, could this cure the issue?

Re: 6g2 blocking distortion at high volume
I rechecked the tone control. I am beginning to think that I am expecting too much from this circuit. I am testing this out with an attenuator at full on volume with a full shred pickup. With no attenuator, I get very loud and clean tones past the halfway point. I know it's an old fender design and ...
