now its quiet. lead dressing and the board is re arranged. btw, i used 12ay7 on all three, the amp has very nice clean sound but the distortion doesn't start untill i turn volume to 80%. i guess its because 12ay7 has less gain. thank you.

Okay. So i will put my red and blk probe and trim it untill
It reads 6.5 ma on the meter and repeat the same for the other trim pot
Am i right?

Hello, i built an ax84 4 4 0 according to the layout. it is quiet at volume 0. at volume 2 it starts loud hum. as i increase the volume slowly to full, the hum gets worse. i have tried different ac sockets. the hum is not coming from the guitar. the audio was recorded with no guitar plugged in. all ...

to bias the amp. I will connect the probes to black and red.
And then turn trim pot 1 so the multimeter shows 39ma.
And turn thd trim pot 2 to get 39ma as well.
Am i right!

it is a 120v pilot light wired to the heater wires through two black resistors as shown in the pic. i am okay with not functioning. does a bad pilot light cause any issue!

Yaaay. my amp works now. 4 4 0 wiring help needed
finished building the amp. all tubes are installed with a 8 ohms spkr connected. when i power up the amp it blows the 1A fuse. i have checked for wiring closely; no short found. ground wires are okay. i pictured the power switch wiring and the OT wiring. any suggestions/comments!

Thanks Collosal. The sw im using has 6 poles. I used your layout and left bottom pair unused. I powered the amp up and right away the 1amp slo blo fuse went sparked. Im getting the fuse fixed tomorrow lets see....

Yes, I am using a 6SN7 as a power tube. I am looking at the chart and yes the tap 2 and 4 will be connected to the speaker jack positive and negative and i will swap them only if it squeals. Since i do not need other ohms setting i wont' use the impedance switch and that makes it lot easier. correct...
