Re: Does anyone know the Rockerverb's OT specs?
Have you seen this link? https://orangeamps.com/articles/2006-advanced-transformer-designs/ I think it means they have 8 sections and dual slot. An Hi-Fi-ish design. I remember to have read on other sites they are five sections. That's exactly what I was trying to discern. If it's hifi esc then I k...

Re: Does anyone know the Rockerverb's OT specs?
No, but my impression is that if someone can help me understand what the 50 watt schematics means in terms of windings\specs that I'm sure it'll apply to the 100w. More or less, I don't think the 100w is voiced different.

Does anyone know the Rockerverb's OT specs?
I'm trying to discern the topology of the Rockerverb and have a good understanding of the preamp\tone stack for the most part, which is something like a JTM\SLO\JMP mashup and the topology isn't anything that crazy outside of some of the modern conveniences. But I'm having trouble getting specs on t...

Re: What is the actual lineage of the Fender Model T RI? Is it Fender\Marshall or Soldanian?
IMHO, very much the usual setup: Marshall 2203 with added gain stage at input and couple of other mods here and there to tinker the response and gain. 18k cold cathode bias on the 3rd stage is an intermediate between 2203's 10k and Soldano's 39k. (And yes, SLO is also a 2203 with input boost and fe...

What is the actual lineage of the Fender Model T RI? Is it Fender\Marshall or Soldanian?
So I am really having a laugh here because I'm trying to figure out where Channel 2 on a Fender Model T Reissue is coming from. Some people have claimed it's basically a Mig 50 preamp Others have claimed it's JTM in origin (though I don't hear it) And the shop I was about to contract to mod one of m...

Putting 5150 OT into Superlead?
I'm having trouble finding specs for this OT, but the best I can find is 2.1k\3.3k. I basically want a "wideband" or "hifi" style OT to put into a superlead but I'd like to grab something with a notable sonic signature in high gain territory. This brings to mind Mark III (early recto), SLO (which I ...

Re: Highest gain amps that use 2.7K .68uf, how to add sizzle?
I’m not really a fan of the tones you seek, but… Different speaker? Maybe, Celestian Vintage 30? Bright cap? From a practical perspective, you're not wrong. However in this video they are using the same cabinet. So it's something in either the preamp or poweramp. What might be notable in another pa...

Re: Highest gain amps that use 2.7K .68uf, how to add sizzle?
Sorry, I don't have the schematics of all amps memorized. Where exactly in the circuit do the two components live? Cathode of first stage? Got a link to a reference schematic? And what exactly is "sizzle"? I'm guessing it's a rise in high frequency gain, but at what frequencies and how much? IDK it...

Re: 80s Bogner modded Marshall 2204
any schematics? Sorry, not for this amp. There's a schematic of a Bogner Fish Cantrell Mod out there, that can get you somewhat close. The old ENGL stuff is also quite similar. How old? Lasse mentioned the "straight" but I literally have never seen one on the marketplaces. So hopefully something ne...

Highest gain amps that use 2.7K .68uf, how to add sizzle?
On my journey I've come to realize that I absolutely adore this combo and consider it crucial to the Marshall feel and tone. The Soldano values feel too bloated (though this is somewhat eleviated with a boost pedal) and the Fender values tend to give a more Orange or Mark feel depending on negative ...

I have a theory this is a closely related circuit. Anyone with better eyes want to compare it to the JMP1?

Re: Can you increase girth without increasing wattage?
Agreed! Make sure those cabs are wired for the same polarity first... Meanwhile I have yet to encounter a girth-meter. Nickerz, what did "they" use to quantify girth, whatever that is ? ? ? Inquiring minds want to know. Did they also measure swirl? Did they examine the crystal lettuce and publish r...

Re: If you were going to give amp designs a taxonomy, how would you do it?
After much contemplation, I've desided it's going to be important to deliniate preamp and tonestack. From a layperson's perspective, tonestack simply isn't given the importance it actually holds in design. So in that regard, I think tonestack as a taxonomy warrants some discussion. What's more impor...

NM, I was wrong. Has the same issue the 5150 has.
