Re: Signal bleed at Master Volume 0
ChopSauce makes a good point. Does your amp sound good at stage levels...any issues that occur when played loud ? If you short the wiper to ground does the signal disappear ?

Re: Tolex glue
I sold solvent based adhesives for a living for 30 years. I used a spray contact cement, similar to auto trim cement and a spray gun. You can also use a brush grade contact cement taking care not to put a heavy coating on the tolex. Allow drying time, AKA open tome, for the solvent to dissipate befo...

I have built several amps using the Mark II B circuits...they have always sounded good, IMO.

Re: Proper resistive load for speaker output - during testing
I use an 8 ohm 200 watt resistor that I purchased on ebay. It gets warm, but works fine for power measurements .

Re: FRONT PANEL MOUNT LED INDICATORS
I have used tricolor leds....you can utilize a standard instrument jack size hole and a rubber grommet. Push the led from behind until it starts to protrude .

Re: AB165 Bassman crackle in V1 and V3 stages??
Look to purchase an inexpensive scope...that will make your life a lot simpler when tracking down noise and other issues. Changing resistors is a good idea, but if that is not the source of your problem....what next ? Just my 2 cents..

Re: Threaded Screw repair
You can always mix a small amount of epoxy and fill the holes...let the epoxy dry and drill a small pilot hole before inserting screws.

Re: Turn 5E3 clone into a Deluxe Reverb?
If you only desire more clean headroom, you might try adding NFB to your circuit first. This is quite easy to try before scrapping the entire circuit and starting over.

Re: Rick Beato interviews Robben Ford
I'm not sure who RF was referring to, but I have a similar opinion of a lot of today' s players. I am very old school...started playing in bands in the 1960's. I was fortunate to learn at an early age that being able to express emotion into your solos is more important than playing a lot of notes re...

Re: Fender made to Boogie
Back in the 1980's you could pick up a Bassman or Bandmaster head for $100 bucks. I modded a couple dozen...sort of wish I had left them stock and kept them in my closet. That head looks like a Bandmaster. Measure the length and I will check it against my Bassman head which is shorter. I would post ...

Go view Uncle Doug's video on Youtube...he does a great job explaining that circuit. I cannot remember the title...sorry. Basically, the three capacitor networks change the phase about 60 degrees per network so what you end up with is close to 180 degrees out of phase and injected back into the inpu...
