Re: New Marshall project - 1970 50w Lead Restoration
The problem with the diode block as used by Marshall is it only uses two of the diodes in the block (two are unused as they are for fullwave rectification). My suggestion is do not use the block but four of the heavy duty ones ((you need at least a 1200v rating and 2A per each diode). The board does...

Re: New Marshall project - 1970 50w Lead Restoration
[quote= Also, are the snubber caps to the left of the rectifier needed? Another case of “I sometimes see them, I sometimes don’t”. I’ve read they came from the factory both ways as well and my understanding is that they reduce switch “pop”? [/quote] If you are referring to the 0.22uF caps that appea...

Re: New Marshall project - 1970 50w Lead Restoration
The Blue & Brown heater wires start to show up in 1970 around #8000A and continue right up to January 1st, 1971. The reason for the color switch appears to be a vendor shortage of Black & Red wire. The early 50 watters had a flaw in the way the power was sent to the bias section. The way they were w...

what is the purpose of the anode resistor on output tubes
I just bought second hand Fucsh ODS Classis 100W amp.
Open up to see what is inside and notice one strange thing.
33R/3W resistors between anodes of output tubes and primary of output transformer.
Never seen this before in guitar amp.
What is the purpose of that resistor?

Re: Help with 4 way footswitch
wires from Cliff jack goes to large PCB on the front
that PCB contain so many IC chips , so it will be impossible to trace, at least for me

Re: Help with 4 way footswitch
when I plug the cable in the footswitch jack, only normal channel led is lit and all the switches on the front panel are disabled tried decade resistance box with ammeter in series and LED diode changing resistance, current was measured from 1mA to 80mA (this without LED), nothing changed, only norm...

Re: Help with 4 way footswitch
this is the footswitch
because only two + ground wires are used only some kind of voltage shifting in the pedal is probably implemented
probably some resistors, diodes or zener diodes
maybe something like Fender implemented (check attached picture)

Help with 4 way footswitch
Can you guy help me with building and wiring the 4 way footswitch. Recently acquired some old Hamstead Eclipe 20 prototype amp without footswitch. Tried to contact Hamstead support but no luck, this is some old model and they don't have any info for that footswitch. Footswitch jack on the amp is jus...
