Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
I have spent my life with NEVE consoles... I am a professional Sound Engineer, Producer etc., so I know quite a lot about sound and transistor NEVE equipment etc. However, GUITAR PEDALS are NOT designed by Mr. Rupert Neve, rest assured of that... nor do they sound even closely as good as NEVE equipm...

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
However, In the latest incarnation of my loop experiments, adding a pot in parallel with the loop, I believe is the most respectful (towards Mr. D) way to implement a parallel function and it preserves the Dumble tone. However, there's no right or wrong... let your ears decide. Your schematics that...

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
Thanks for a confirmation on the schematics. All right, now it is clear! It is always good to get a confirmation (isn't it)... So, it shall be ¨#124 schematics 1984¨ and also it shall be 2x 100 uF capacitors for a total of 50 uF for the first stage in the Power supply section of this 50 Watt amp. AL...

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
Thanks. I also want an original 124, not the skyliner. Would that be this schematics named #124 schematics (as opposed to the one below named #124 schematics 1984) or is it the one below named #124 schematics 1984? Which one of the two?!

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
I am also preparing to build (my friend is going to be actual builder) a 124 clone, but on a new thread dealing with that build author ignored my question as to WHICH SCHEMATICS are correct? There are two schematics in DUMBLE FILES thread but I do not see which one is used nowadays since those are o...

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
Thank you! So, my conclusion is that in order NOT to have this amp stiff, I should use 2x 100uF electrolytic caps wired in series, which totals 50uF for the first stage, right? If that is right, than it is looking good since I already have 100uF F&T caps. Thanks again. Sven

Re: #124 CAP QUESTION
Schematics show that 0124 amp uses 2x 300uF caps in series for a total of 150uF in the first stage for a 100 Watt amp based on 4x 6L6 output valves. What would be capacitance of these first two caps for the same amp but built for a 50 Watt version based on 2x EL34 output valves (active one valve FX ...

Re: #124 started
Which schematic and layout is used? I am also going for a 124 nowadays... but there are several schemes which is a bit confusing. Also, mine is going to be 50 Watt one with 2x EL34 in output. I also intend to build in a parallel FX loop similar to Dumbleator, but that also is confusing since there a...

Best Dumbleator-like built-in parallel one valve FX loop
Greetings... how 10 years fly by... There are a number of schemes and layouts of Dumbleator here, while my interest is in a bulit-in PARALLEL FX loop for a new build. By the way, I see no purpose in serial FX loops. Anyway... There is a lot of work in that domain by a member bluesfendermanblues. but...

Re: TweedMaster non-HRM
Let me trace back this a bit. This is EXACTLY what I wrote as my original comment on this thread. Also, very important, this is ALL that I wrote, quote: Sven: Erwin's amp sounds much better. - end quote. Obviously (let us hope), my comment was brief, simple, polite and objective statement of my per...

Re: Amp competition(?)
However, I wasn't aware that it was a competition, or I would have tried much harder to impress you, sven. I searched your posts for links to some of your amp soundclips, but was unable find any.....can you post some links so that we can critique them & you than get in on the competition? TIA, Geez...

Re: Bluesmaster pre with non-hrm overdrive
Yes, indeed, your guitar playing and the sound of this amp, is excellent. Actually the best sound clip IMHO, this year (very similar to a fellow from Finland, couple of years ago, nick ¨mat¨, who had awesome sound with non-HRM here - still keeping the clip in my files). The key expression someone us...

Re: Bluesmaster pre with non-hrm overdrive
I made a little record showing the capabilities of the Od channel. Played with a strat. http://soundcloud.com/erwin_ve/room335 The sound and playing are excellent (although I dislike this style of ¨musak¨). Is this the sound of the amp from this scheme posted on this thread? BTW, this sound could b...
