Re: Parallel loop - for ampgarage users only :-D
The idea is to have a D-lator INSIDE of an amp, thus the obvious choice of V3 to be used as a dobule-triode for that function, whereas PI valve becomes V4, of course. Furthermore, the width of a card used for D-lator circuit is less than 65 mm (cca 2 1/2 inch), so that the card could be inserted ver...

Re: Parallel loop - for ampgarage users only :-D
Well, first of all, on the above layout done by memeber ¨stucto¨ in Visio, the connections to the valve at V3-2 and V3-3 should be reversed, right on the valve pins. Simple. Meaning, the light blue wire from 0,05uF capacitor should go to V3-2 and not to V3-3. That also calls for orange wire from 0,4...

Re: Parallel loop - for ampgarage users only :-D
I have tried to make a LAYOUT for this scheme, and without following any rules and/or very smart tricks, I have drawn this, so that people could see and perhaps comment. Attached drawing.
EDIT: corrected V3-7 connection on February 9, 2010.

THANK YOU ! This is a very valuable contribution. Do you have any layout drawing as you have used it in your amp?

Re: Received the new Dumble Book (Jesse Schwarz)
I was just kidding. Basically, I was sorry to see that the author did not treat you better, while you are a nice fellow. Hey, did you once write that you shall make pictures of your original Dumble that you sold, available here on this forum? Ever got that done? No? Never mind the book, how are your...

Heyboer is what I got, for 50W. They are 4k primary, for 2x EL34, and full freq. response at full power; US$85. Good service, custom made OT's, nice.

Re: Received the new Dumble Book (Jesse Schwarz)
I find it rather sad, or perhaps pathetic, that you helped that author with a lot of your valuable contributions for free, while he did not even bother to send you a free copy of a book when it once got published, but you rather had almost to beg for one, so he finally, after so much of your effort ...

Re: Source for Boards
Greetings, There was a mention, even some picutres, on this forum, that also FORMICA boards have been used in amps. Since formica is more readily available (is it the same material that the kitchen cabinets and such are covered with in some instances?) in some quarters, one wanders what kind of boar...

Re: Filter Caps for #124 type build
Greetings,
Why do you ruin your amp by sqeezing that black goop there. If you must use silicone putty there, use clear stuff.
And you could also use a wet rag or wet finger, to smooth it nicely, like a thin, long and very unobtrusive clear line.
