Re: What do you think of the Fender Jack White Pano Verb amp?
Interesting amp, cool they are doing something different. I really like the first few White stripes albums. I am fairly sure "his" sound for the early years was an Airline res-o-glass guitar (only neck pickup working) > Muff > Silvertone 1484. It's not a mind blowing song but I love The big three ki...

Same issue that happened here awhile back. Some browsers allow you to accept the dead certificate and visit anyway.

Re: Remember those non-stick turrets from ten years ago?
Why not just use the turrets as a supports to wrap component leads around and solder the leads together? I know it's not ideal.

Re: Anyone in the southeast/east coast have experience servicing Lab Series amps?
Aion electronics makes a PCB that is the entire preamp section of the lab series guitar amps w/ compressor. They have a pretty good amount information in the PDF on their site. https://aionfx.com/project/l5-preamp/ Not the lab series but here's info on Pearce Amps. Dan carried alot of what he learne...

Re: Anyone in the southeast/east coast have experience servicing Lab Series amps?
I say go for it! but I am just up in Asheville, NC if you want someone else to do it or need help. I'm gonna be out of town the next two weeks but will be around after that. I'm somewhat familiar with those amps as I was working on a PCB for the preamp section of the Pearce G1 awhile ago but lost st...

Re: "No More Russian Vacuum Tubes in 2022"
JJ has a pretty large cost advantage (definitely labor, most likely equipment, and I'd bet environmental as well) over anyone doing tube manufacturing here in the states. I'm sure for WE it comes down to what they want to be doing as a "brand". Do they wanna make low volume high end audio equipment ...

Re: Getting Started With KiCad.
Yeah, it's a little tricky but honestly the learning curve isn't any worse than any other PCB software around. I use DxDesigner at work and either KiCad or my pre-autodesk Eagle license I have for home. my only advice would be plan for your libraries, it's the most annoying part. If you check out th...

Might be worth asking Peavey? They used to be pretty good with tech support on old products.

Re: True Bypass a Whammy 1 pedal?
I would check out the diystomp or madbean forums to get an answer on that.
If it's rare why not just use it with a looper pedal and not mod it at all? Those are less than $50 new or you could build your own with 4x jacks and a DPDT switch.

Re: Options to replace odd cap value
Following up on what RG said. Big companies that have entire compliance departments tend to pay for all the testing they can across the board just to cover themselves. Smaller places may role the dice or not even understand. It may not be an issue until or unless you're caught for violating the rule...

Re: Kustom Defender V50
Have you emailed Kustom? That amp is recent enough It might be worth a shot. Also, take some pictures of the PCB and wiring. We can probably collectively figure out what's going on. Channel switching usually isn't too mind blowing when it's done on the cheap.

Re: Options to replace odd cap value
It's also worth noting the original caps used were probably spec'd at something like -20%/+50% at very best so you can factor that into picking your new caps.
