Re: Tl806 ported cab with different speaker
Hello, yes, the program gives you parameters for open, closed and ported cabinets.
About the vents, you can only chose the diameter, so it is for pipe vented cabinets.
The result is the drawing i previously posted, 4 inches diameter.

Re: Tl806 ported cab with different speaker
I know, with the vent cover on, the cabinet is tuned around 55hz, without it is tuned around 70hz. One thing i don t really understand. When i do the calculation according to my speaker specifications, the cabinet volume suggested by the program is almost three times bigger than the tl806, 127 liter...

Re: Tl806 ported cab with different speaker
It is a one time project, i m not going to buy a dedicated program for that. I will build the cabinet according to the cabinet volume suggested by the free program and adjust the vent on the going. I don t need to tune the cabinet to 50hz, the speaker doesn t go that low. The tl806 cab is tuned arou...

Re: Tl806 ported cab with different speaker
I did, i also found an online calculator, and here is the result IMG_1008.png I understand i can now come out with the measures of the cabinet to match the volume. What i don t understand is the vent, in the result it is shown as a sort of pipe, while on the tl806 there are three chambers underneath...

Tl806 ported cab with different speaker
Hello, I want to build a 1x12 cab for my jensen jet tornado 100, i d like to use the tl806 plan but i know that a ported cab must be carefully planned. There is a program to calculate the cabinet volume and vent area, this one http://www.linearteam.org/ I don t have a pc and i was wondering if any o...

Re: How do i test an old power transformer?
Wow, you guys really gave me some to read.
Thank you
My first goal is to understand how much juice it has, i mean, milliamps and then the secondary winding volts, is it a 270, a 300 or even more.
The secondary does not have a 5 volts out that is for sure and no center taps too.
Thank you

Re: My Champ has a sound problem
Great i ll check the vht then. Rignt now the amp sound is good, both clean and crunch, i rarely push it even more so i don t think i am going to change anything, maybe the grid stopper on the power tube and the v1b bypass cap value with this one being the hardest choice, since i dont like having a s...

Re: My Champ has a sound problems
A few more things to think about when you are rebuilding or building in general: Here's an article on grounding that is relatively easy to understand. https://www.valvewizard.co.uk/Grounding.html Where you locate grounds tends to matter a lot less in pedals. The higher gain and more complicated tub...

Re: My Champ has a sound problems
That is something i need to address, soldering, wires and technics. Playing with pedals and basic effects building is all I had before this, obviously, a tube amp needs extra care and experience. Here the new board. New parts are coming i will be cleaning all the soldering. 838D8CBC-56C2-4049-B7B2-7...

Re: My Champ has a sound problems
Hey Mikante, Some nice tones are coming out of it. Congratulations on your first build. If it helps to know, it sounds similar to how I remember my champ sounding from years back. I recall I used to play it with the volume almost wide open, and then I rolled back the volume on the guitar for the be...

Re: My Champ has a sound problems
Is my first champ build, take it easy on him  As i said, it is not coming out from the video, but it is definitely better. I will be playing it loud to see if it doesn t get worse after some playing as it did before. Trust me if you were here you d notice. I d like not to add other components. ...

Re: My Champ has a sound problems
Thank you i understand now. I have added a 220k before pin 7 and replaced the bypass cap switch and feedback resistor. Replaced the blu wire with a shielded one and ground it both sides. Pictures is coming. Is there a way to attach a video without going through youtube? I made one. https://youtu.be/...
