Re: Completed Tweedle Dee with nasty short - HELP please

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I do have the insulation board under the component board I will have to pull them to check for issues underneath beyond that.

My next course will be to check resistances as suggested.

Thanks again!

Completed Tweedle Dee with nasty short - HELP please

Hello newbie here! I realize this thread is cold (originally posted to an existing thread - a kind sole suggested I cut and paste to a new thread for help) and everyone but me has probably built a Tweedle-Dee but I'm at a loss where to go for information. I have a tweedle-dee on my workbench, comple...

Re: Tweedle-Dee Build (lengthy wrap-up)

Hi All, Been in “lurking and learning” mode for awhile and recently decided to put together a Tweedle-Dee. First step was reading the 22 page thread originated by Charlie - which is a gold mine of info; then on to mhartman’s documentation in “Files” . All very informative and interesting! Many than...

Re: Yet Another Two Stroke build

Finished drilling/enlarging the extra holes in the chassis. The switch I bought for the voice/boost function was larger than an input jack, so had to enlarge one of them. Also needed a hole for a 2nd output jack, and 1 more to mount the OT. Test fit (again) into the cabinet with the OT mounted to m...

Re: Yet Another Two Stroke build

Kit arrived today from Weber. Now the fun begins..... First step is shellacking the cabinet. IMG_3954.jpeg A word from someone who has screwed up this procedure. There are two ways to go. One is spraying the cab with nitrous lacquer and letting it go dark of its own accord. The second one is to use...

Re: Yet Another Two Stroke build

The weber drawing is correct. You want to fuse then switch the Hot wire (usually black in the USA). Ideally, you would switch both hot and neutral if you are using a captive power cord, but I wouldn't worry too much about that. Good advise for captive mains cords! And you might add that the mains g...

Re: Yet Another Two Stroke build

Did one of these myself several years back. Did you know they actually make this as a kit (they call it a Maggie): https://www.tedweber.com/maggie-c-kt/ It comes with a very beefy upgraded OT, as well as a 8"/10" speaker combo. Looks like they finally updated the layout to get the screens on the ri...

Re: Drill Press

Nothing wrong about getting a shiny new one. For $25-$50 you'll find not so shiny but fully functional on FB Marketplace. Fiberglas dust is very bad for your health. Once you breathe it in, it stays there forever. Please use dust collection when drilling your boards. This is a great idea! you might...

Re: Hum when connecting to input

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to jump in...new here!

I am building no actually retro modding a DRRI with Mojotone blackface small parts kit. I want to use shielded cable in spots as suggested elsewhere here. Where do I find 20-22 gauge shielded wire to purchase?
Thanks,

Please excuse me while I introduce myself as one of the infinite supply of newbies and a brand new member of this forum. My name is Rich and I am 72 years old 2 years retired from corporate life here in the USofA. I needed a hobby because I was failing retirement (again) and about to fail my marriag...
