Re: Liverpool Variant Clips
All I see is script when I click on the files, what's up with that? I'd really like to have a listen. Also what's the difference between the "Full Meal Deal" and the "Two Holer"? Thanks.

Re: Franchesca Schematic
I had used these in an amp several years back and removed them as I thought they affected the sound in a negative way. I'm hoping it wasn't psychoacoustics.

Re: PPIMV ?
Although not a 'Wreck, I did a JTM 45, whole amp scaled and it sounded pretty good. Although Kevin O suggested just the power section or the PI also when I talked to him, I didn't have the real estate for the drive compensation (MV) control nor the extra board with the extra filter caps. If I did it...

The pictures do coincide with jnick's post stating the bases are put on here.
Legally, "Made Anywhere" only has to meet a certain percentage of national content, be it labour and or materials. I'm certain it varies country to country. Is it 70% in the USA?

Re: Tubeworld?
I've bought from Tubeworld, you've nothing to worry about, good service and good tubes. KCA wanted a ridiculous price to match a tube I was willing to send to find a compatible pair, sorry Mike, I've left the building.

Re: thd and using a light bulb to cancel hum
The one I saw a few years ago had no bulb, used dc heaters with much filtering. Maybe bulbs have unknown capacitive properties we've all been overlooking. Perhaps someone more in the loop can shed some "light"
on this.
on this.

Re: Preferred OT primaries impedance for different tube types
Hi Funk,
I've heard the JTM 45 ran the KT66's on the 8K ohm tap of the multi-tap
Radiospares TX. Is this true and wonder what it would do to the tone?
I know it'd drop watts a bit though.

Re: Another clip!
Super! If you don't mind, what TX's are you using? What would some of the voltages be and what's the primary Z of the OPT? I never seem to be able to use caps that big as my amps always get too tubby. Nice job.

Re: Carmen Ghia schematic/layout?
The CG power amp is a direct copy of the A035, nothing is changed. The preamp is Dr Z's and is shared with a few other models. I was really underwhelmed with the sound of the CG, but some may and probably will like it.

Re: Low-noise tubes
Thanks for the reply tubetek. My findings mirror yours, the older stuff is better but I'm looking for new production tubes that have a lower noise floor. I'm currently using an old Mullard in one of my models, but when they're gone what then?

Low-noise tubes
I'm having a hard time finding tubes with a low noise floor in higher gain
applications. Does anyone have a favourite brand they find less noisey that they would like to share? Thanks.

Hammond OPT's anyone?
Does anyone use Hammonds in their builds? I was reading a thread in which one clone built by Funkalicousgroove used a Dynaco OPT. Do Dumbles prefer Hi Fi transformers, which I consider Hammonds to be?

Vox choke is 20H, which is what I'll be using in my AC30/Rocket invention.
I'm using the full MM TX set, 4.2K OPT. It should work do you think?
