Does anyone recognize this amp design?

hi folks, there's an amp on craiglists that I first thought could be a Dumble OD style clone. Now the seller sent me a gut shot which leaves me clueless.. I know it's a big mess but maybe anyone recognizes the circuit/layout. It has 3x ECC83 tubes for the preamp, 1x ECC81 for the reverb it seems and...

Great stuff Erwin! Would love to hear a demo if you're willing to record some.
Also curious what transformers you used?

Re: 2nd gen chassis and pcb design?

"Overdrive Special" is not a registered trademark - theoretically you could've printed it on the chassis.
Anyways, what would be a proper way to do it myself? These decals at Amazon probably will fall of quick after some time. Any hints?

Re: 2nd gen chassis and pcb design?

Hey Erwin,

fantastic work again from you for the community! Bug ups for that!
Is there a specific reason why the frontpanel of the cassis has no "OVERDIVE SPECIAL" labeling just like on the SSS chassis you sell?
Looks kinda odd with that big blank space in there.

Anybody here knows ULTRON tubes (6L6)?

Hey there, does anyone here know a tube brand called Ultron? Apparently German. From what I gather they seem to be buying bulks of tubes and relabeling and reselling them? Attached is a batch of 6L6 I'm looking at. Anybody recognizes them? Any good or are they a pass? 9ae1ccf0-976b-417f-abdd-85efed6...

Re: Klon Centaur Gerbers - anyone?

I do, but they are not "available". I'd be amazed if you found them on the web. Anyone who has gone to the trouble of generating gerbers for a Klon are making the PCBs for profit. Do you need a certain number of boards? Maybe I can help. Yeah I thought I'd order some PCBs for friends and bandmember...

Do these bypass caps make a big difference in terms of sound compared to modern equivalents?
By modern equivalents do you mean the current sprague TVA?
Nope, I mean any available electrolytic 5uF/63V at Mouser

Re: Ryan & Erwin's SSS #002 Madness

I use https://tubedepot.com/products/18-ga-tin-plated-aerospace-grade-tefzel-wire for mine. The total heater current draw is 7A about so you could get away with using https://tubedepot.com/products/20-ga-silver-plated-aerospace-grade-ptfe-wire for the preamp and 18ga on the power amp if you're havi...

@Ryan: what's the heater wire you used on the PCB SSS?
You mention it in one of your videos but I can't find it in the BOM.

Oh good find! They're not even listed on their homepage which is weird. But found them via Mouser.
Will look into it :)

Re: Transformer problem Dumble 50

In the original Sss002 is a 022756 PT. The model you showed in the pic is the export version for 220/240v, so yes. Btw I'll ship your chassis and pcb tomorrow. So export means only it's dedicated for the European market. I see. Using this over the Hammond 290FEX requires no changes whatsoever? P.S....
