Re: Questions about the Matchless DC30 Effects Loop and Phase Inverter
Hiya i built a DC30 clone, and its bloody lovely. The FX loop is not super useable however. Ive put a dumbleator in it but it induces a fair amount of hum in the output which isnt a problem in the ODS I also built.. My thoughts are that the DC30 is a wonderful thing, and basically passive fx loops a...

Re: Benson Tall Bird All Tube Reverb info wanted
So far using this thread: https://www.guitarscanada.com/threads/benson-tall-bird-all-tube-reverb.293707/ And the pictures included, I’ve made this so far: IMG_0628.jpeg Anything that’s glaring? Not sure if this unit has a choke, I can’t find any useful chassis pics online.. And the power supply is a...

Benson Tall Bird All Tube Reverb info wanted
Hi everyone, I’m desperately seeking schematic, chassis photos and any information on the Benson Tall Bird reverb unit. It’s not dissimilar to the classic 6g15 fender, but clearly coveted. I’d like to make a clone! If anyone knows anything about them/has one/is willing to share info please can you d...

Re: Dumblelator with Spring Reverb
Thanks Richard!
I would put a 220k resistor between the first plate and B+, would that solve that?
Im a beginner so please tell me the other reasons why it wont work!
Im also trying to copy the reverb from a JMP 2144, which is only two triodes of a 12AX7.

Dumblelator with Spring Reverb
Hi Everyone, I've been trying to incorporate a fender-style spring reverb into a Dumblelator circuit, and would appreciate some help. I have taken the standard 1x12AX7 Dumblelator, and thought that I could use the first triode as a phase splitter: So the plate of V1A is the reverb driver, with coupl...

Re: PTP Vibrochamp Hum
Thanks everyone, all really useful stuff. First champ Ive built and didnt realise that the lack of filtering was such a big deal on it.. Id like to implement the Pi filter-looks like that’ll probably do it. So do I pop another 20uf/450v next to my reservoir cap-straight after the 470r resistor? Neve...

PTP Vibrochamp Hum
Hi Amp Garage legends, Long time reader first time poster, from the UK. Currently finishing up a first PTP AA764 Vibrochamp, and it sounds lovely-but has a heater hum (50hz for me in UK), and I cannot fathom it. I’ll attach some pics, and if anyone can see what the dickens I’ve missed I would really...
