Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
The last thing to sort out is when I switch off the standby I get an echo sound. This is new after replacing the LDR. Any idea what the issue could be?

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
I am getting close to the finish line. I replaced a few caps, resistors and added a new 3 prong cord. I can't remember if it was there before I started working on the amp but I have been dealing with the dreaded ticking noise common with these amps. I found a few suggestions online and after re-routi...

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
I checked the continuity of the wire and it is connected to earth ground. I have updated all the electrolytic caps and the two resistors on the 6L6 sockets. Before I remove it from the dim bulb tester I want to double check it is behaving correctly. In my dim bulb tester I have 2 x 60W bulbs and it ...

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
I just finished updating the filter caps and I noticed a wire on the side of transformer. Can I cut it off or should I glue it back on the transformer?

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
I will make sure the green ground wire is longer than the other wires and I plan to solder it to the chassis.

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
I will remove that fuse. There is already a fuse in circuit. I am also going to move the green wires back to the indicator lamp. It is a clear look and that less things to fail. I already bought a replacement power cord. I found the attached diagram to install a 3 prong power cord. I would like to r...

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
The comment I made about the ground was in reference to post 19, the pic with the top red circle area with the green leads. In my amp their are green leads connected to a terminal and screwed down to the chassis. I posted a pic of another amp where those green leads are connected to the indicator li...

I pulled the post with the white wires to get a better pic. I am not sure if it a resistor on there.

Re: 1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
The top pic is of a stock 76 Vibrolux I found online. The bottom pic is my amp where I circled two areas that appear to be altered. In the top red circle there are green leads (running to the right) connected to a post screwed to chassis and a very thin red wire running from the indicator lamp to th...

1976 Fender Vibrolux refresh help
I recently picked up a 1976 Vibrolux amp. The previous owner removed the earth 3rd prong from the plug so I would like to replace it. Most of the components seem to be original but there appears to be a couple additions to the amp. I would like to replace the aged electrolytic caps to avoid future i...

Re: HRM Bluesmaster 50 PI trimmer help
Thanks for everyone's help.
One last question. Do I need to adjust the bias or PI trimmer every time I replace one of the tubes?
