So, I have to finally admit I drilled a cabinet wrong, The chassis is too far back. despite me measuring 4 times and drilling once!

Do I just make the holes elongated? I think the ferrule washers will cover the gap.

I think you are correct. It will be a task that will take me a large amount of time I suspect

So I moved to my new house, and I decided to fire the amp up. V1 V2 and V3 didnt seem to get hot, so I opened it up and sure as hell I found a bad connection, quickly sorted it out. Then put it all back together and I got the low signal once again. The heater wires are fine. I have tried all testing...

That is the V1 plate supply filter. You can see that on the Second gen layout drawing. Looks almost new, doesn't it? Man thats so much neater than the way I did it hanging off V1 it shows that Dumble was constantly evolving the design the way he wanted. Supurb! ill check the 2nd gen layout out

So I tested the amp last night... I poked it with the chopstick, the heaters everthing, then I used a screwdriver to test all the gain stages...

Nothing wrong with the damn thing! I dunno what to do now

You haven’t seen the hard problems yet! Especially if there’s multiple problems. I thought that as soon as I mentioned it haha! Best thing to do is keep testing it then get it back to my friend for research testing in the field - or studio! This is a prototype I guess I have a 50w one I used single...

Ok so the power supply seems ok, so it’s a signal path intermittent. Hard to track down as long as it’s working. Chopsticking can sometimes flush it out. A dodgy heater connection occurred to me too, based on the report of it “fading out.” Could this have been caused by the 4ohm to 16ohm discrepenc...

All Voltages are fine and Output tubes are drawing current, but the reamp valves are not getting warm, the Current limiter has a slight glow.
