Interesting, thanks!
I had never heard of that amp before.

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
Thanks for all the replies, I appreciate everyone chiming in. I'll post all the information I have gathered so far in my conversation with MojoTone about this loop for the benefit of the community. I do feel that the instructions leave a lot to be desired and I still don't have all the information I...

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
Right, this is the contradiction. When I show them what I did, they said "no, you can't connect there, it is 200 volts." Ok, then why do the instructions say there is an input coupling capacitor? I have asked them that question about the coupling capacitor several times and they just won't answer it...

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
So, what do they mean when they say the loop has its own input coupling capacitor?

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
I have an update of sorts, but definitely a resolution. I took the loop out and got better shots of the front and back. Not sure where it is going to end up. After speaking with MojoTone further, they recommended that I place the loop in a new location. They recommended that I take the signal out of...

Re: Leads on Stancor A-3801
Thanks for the tip. The one I'm holding has five wires on the secondary vs the six on the drawing. Although both are a model A-3801, I'm not sure we are looking at the same transformers. On the primary side of the one I am holding, I would guess the colors to be green, red, yellow. I have done some ...

Leads on Stancor A-3801
Hi, A friend of mine came into a Stancor A-3801. I offered to install it in a TW clone, but upon receiving it, I'm a bit confused. The examples of the A-3801 I have generally seen have a grey bell, PVC wires and a convenient diagram showing the color codes on the bell. This has none of that. First o...

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
MojoTone and Nik at Ceriatone (as if this is his problem) have been really helpful. I'm exchanging emails with MojoTone now. As far as the placement of the loop, they both said I should have cut the signal between the .1uF cap and 1M resistor on the phase inverter, rather than where I did, before th...

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
Thanks! I went back and looked over the solder joints again to make sure I didn't short something out. I don't see it. I did notice that it says Version 4. The most current instructions are Version 3. They look the same except for that trim pot. I'll wait and see what MojoTone says. I should probabl...

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
Great idea, thanks!
I tried that and did get a signal from the send. I got about a volt from the send using a jumper.
Plugging into the return and touching the tip generated no noise at all, though.
I guess we narrowed it down.
Maybe the loop is just bad?

Re: FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
Thanks Guy. I did check the blue pot, tried it both ways, also in the middle. Same with the external pot, even removing it. Same thing every time. As soon as I engage the loop, I get complete silence. Check what the voltage is on the other side of the large resistor that connects to your B+ wire on...

FX Loop in Ceriatone TW Clone
Hi, Although potentially offensive, I'm adding a MojoTone series effects loop (Version 3) to a Ceriatone Trainwreck Expression clone. The problem I am encountering is that everything works when I am in bypass, but engaging the loop kills the signal. I attached a picture of the amp as well as a layou...
