insert points for one tube reverb
Folks, I have built the Swart style one tube(12DW7) cap coupled reverb for my Tweedle Dee Deluxe. It is currently connected using V1 pin 6 as the send, and V2 pin 2 as the return. It works, but doesn't sound like examples I've heard of Swart Atomic Space Tone amps. What I'm hearing is a strong note ...

Solid State rectifier for 5E3 build
Folks, I built the Tweedle Dee circuit with a Pacific Audio Deluxe Reverb PT and a Pacific Audio Brownface Deluxe OT. I would like to use a solid state rectifier in order to have enough current to add a 1 tube reverb. ( and maybe run 5881's). Is there a problem using the Yellow Jacket YJR solid stat...

Steve,
I can’t believe I made such a dumb mistake! I was rushing, and preoccupied with an upcoming small surgical procedure. It’s working fine now.
Doh!

Questions about modding a Tweedle Dee Deluxe
Folks, Let me state up front that I am a total newbie, so please forgive my ignorance. That being said, after I built a nice 5F1, I built a pair of 5E3's-a standard circuit, and the Tweedle Dee Deluxe hosted right here on the AmpGarage. It sounds real good with a GZ34 and 2 5881 Tung-Sols (I used th...

Tweedle Dee Deluxe B+ questions
Folks, I have built the Tweedle Dee Deluxe, which sounds great. However, I notice one of the tubes red plating. Wall voltage is 123V. If I use a Variac to bring things to @ 110V, I have no issues. at 115V, I start to have a tiny bit of red plating. I tried 3 different pairs of tubes, and swapping po...

Weber Cabinets
Folks,
Does anyone know how to get in touch with the folks at Weber? I want to do a custom order, but I cannot get them to reply. I've tried calling, texting, emailing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Slim

Re: 5E3-taming the volume
That's what's confusing. On this annotated fender layout (attached), it shows pins 1,2,3 as the preamp side. Unless I'm reading it wrong?

Re: 5E3-taming the volume
Thanks,
I'm a little confused about the 12DW7. Do you want the lower gain half for the phase inverter, or the second preamp section? Because there is version of the tube with the sections reversed.

5E3-taming the volume
So, I built my 1st 5E3. I used P-TGP-002 PT and a Hammond 1750-H OT. The 1st filter cap is 33uf, and the power tube cathode resistor is a 10w, along with a 50v power tube bypass cap. The rest of the circuit is standard. Going into a Celestion G12M 65 watt speaker, this thing is too loud with the vol...

Re: I just had to mess with it....
Thanks, everyone. After staring at the chassis for a couple of days, and re-measuring all components, re-flowing solder connections, etc., I realized I removed the jumper from the center lug of the bright pot and moved it to the normal pot when I was adding the shielded wire. Rookie mistake, I guess...
