Reading this story, I was reminded of RF's remeniscences that came out after HAD passed away. He was gracious and respectful, did not let any ill will show through. Took the high road...

Re: 5watt Dumble Amp Build
Martin Manning was working on a low watt ODS that looked really great. Not sure if he has finished it. https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=37090

Re: new tonestack calculator
Thanks for posting this. I like the "stupidly wonderful" one-knob controls.
Having to scroll through the circuits instead of using a drop down menu is a minor drawback.

Re: Buzzy distortion in Marshall style preamps?
With consideration that this is the Marshall forum, let's compare some schematics and incorporate the 2204 which is what the P1/SEL is taking inspiration from: Right off the bat, there's a wide swing in voltages, with yours unsurprisingly being the lowest. Marshalls typically have their preamp volt...

Re: What is causing buzzy distortion in the preamp?
Wild ass guess: on the 2nd stage, try a lower value cathode bypass cap. Your schematic shows a 22uF in that position. Different preamp arrangement than the one you are working on, but the Fender Champ AA764 only uses 2 uF in that position I have the 25uF in that position on SE 6V6 amp I'm working on...

Re: Trouble getting into the forum
I can log in to the forum, but get a message "The requeted information cannot be found." The only way I can get to the forums is by using a search window "Board Index" and other navigation buttons are broken or glitchy.
Strangely, the Private Message system has been functional the whole time....

Re: AX-84 data sources?
The AX 84 forum was re-homed to the site below. Very little current activity, mostly bots. A lot of old content is preserved there, but accessing it via the search window was problematic last time I tried https://perpetualinnovation.us/MyBBDir/ Many but not necessarily all of the AX84 documents can ...

Re: Has Anyone Built a Tone King Imperial?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpF88ondW4Y Here is one you tube that demonstrates the mid bite control than any others I have seen. Bing Videos I am a sucker for good amp demos. This is the one that fostered my interest in the imperial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPVeJvWGG3Y I have not built t...

Re: LAR/MAR PPIMV bypass pop noise?
i recently wired up my 6V6 SE amp with the Imperial preamp as in the attached schematic. It sounds great, My amp has a master volume and I do not play loud enough for power amp overdrive to be a factor, unlike the real Imperial where power amp overdrive is a big part of the sound. But I like it for ...

Re: New Project
For my 6V6 SE power amp I followed the AX84 5 watt building block but with 302 volts on the plate due to a different PT and 5Y3 rectifier. Most say a tube rectifier is pointless with SE but I wanted the option to try it with different voltages. The AX84 schematic includes a ability to tweak cathode ...
