Re: For italian member.
Hey man...thanks for the kind words!
yes, I've been out of the "business" for a while, my baby is taking me away from amps and solder
The high gain machine is still there, needs a complete retube, but it's alive and kickin'

Re: Hi my frist message, advice me please
Even if a Dumble style amp (HRM) is perfectly capable to deliver high gain sounds, I think that you are in the "wrong" section :D With 1000 euros you can find many good tube amps, used or new, that are more indicated to satisfy your needs...if you want to build something, look for a soldano slo clon...

Back to something usual, differences in mic positions...
I had some fun trying different position for my trusty sm57, hope you find this interesting. The amp is the hybrid HRM, but this time is on the low gain side  Guitar is 2005 Les Paul Historic 1958 Thanks for listening. Aggressive modern lead from the hybrid HRM...
www.theicon.org/Still_hurts_3.mp3 hello again, just a little example of a kind of modern shred lead from my hybrid HRM amp. There's an HBE Power Screamer in front of the amp to give an extra boost and to tight the low end a bit and a little cut around 150Hz with a post production eq vst. Cab is a Me...

Re: Dumble does Guns and Roses? yes! ;-)
massygt6, many thanks! my BASS trimmer on the HRM board its acting more like a switch...it's a sort of ON-OFF setting, from a very low bass content, to a full boost...guess that it's not normal! You use the linear trimmer (B). Needs logarithmic potentiometer (A). thanks! I'll try that... Yes...

Re: Dumble does Guns and Roses? yes! ;-)
ok guys, let me explain something, as I try some mods day by day, is difficult to have the situation updated to the correct specs  ACTUALLY the amp has: 1)BLUESMASTER tonestack 2)SKYLINER P.I. 3)390k/33pF input for the OD 4)130k/150k on V1 5)180k/220k on V2 6)LNFB on V1 7)190pF snubbers on V2 (...

Re: Clean sample, kinda like Mayer sound...
do you have overdrive clip with the strat? it's something more than overdrive, but you get the idea  Strat with singles, no humbuckers, I swear...this puppy has an insane amount of gain. http://www.theicon.org/hotstocazz.mp3 The "hybrid" part is the tone stack and the PI, Bluesmaster the first...
