chassis: Ceriatone or CePedals? (PT dimensions)

Hi all

A buddy of me wants to build his 2nd Dumble(style/based) amp and we're wondering if the MM 50 Watt Dumble/Ceriatone PT will fit in a CePedals chassis?

Email already send but also asking over here because of all experience/knowhow.

Many tia!

Re: Bluesmaster pre with non-hrm overdrive

@Erwin I always try using the largest ceramic caps as possible (sometimes using 1kV or 2kV types) if such caps are required regarding tone/circuit. As soon as I did see " '68 ES 335" I thought of mr. G. His amp did get a MM OT last saturday over here, he was amazed by the impact of that. I guess the...

Re: Why is a single channel amp inherently better than a multi?

I disagree. I's certainly possible to build a "nice" dual channel amp but (in the case of Dumbles) you're feeding the od-section with a clean preamp (mid-dipped without pab) and that's vey hard to voice for most lead-sounds imo. The red-plate concept is a cool option having two channels "parallel". ...

Re: Ceriatone OTS 50w Two Rock Mods???

Maybe it's wiser to do it yourself or bring it to an amp-guy who does play guitar and does have experience modding guitar-amplfiers.

Re: Which Vibroverb?

Did play a real '63 VV some days ago at very low volume and it was still very, very nice. Warm, full bodied sound but still clear enough when the treble-control was turned down. Reverb differs from blackface-amps, a bit "smaller". Couldn't dime the amp but it was great to play such very rare old Fen...

Re: Which Vibroverb?

use the good tubes for V2,3,4 and 6, cheaper/more common ones for the other positions, most guys only use the reverb-channel

Re: Which Vibroverb?

I've used post pi mv's in reï brown Vibroverbs for customers without any problems; crancked sounds at lower volumes and the wobble-trem still working. Weber does offer (small sized) tapped treble pots. (Just finished working on a '65 VV clone, now doubting about a '65 VibroluxReverb or a '63 Vibrove...

Re: What size choke for 183 build?

I gotto look for specs regarding those smaller Fender chokes but the 2x6L6 VibroluxReverb does use the same (small) one as the 2x6V6 DeluxeReverb.

Re: Fender vibrolux negitive feedback

the custom vibrolux is more like a modded brownface than a blackface amp so check out the neg.feedback resistors values from the brownface super or ('63) vibroverb imo (both 40 Watts into 4 ohms)

(the AA864 is about the last version with just 2 gainstages from top of my head)

Re: tweaking a '59 RI Bassman LTD

@structo: the (more expensive) custom shop tweeds like the '57 Deluxe, '57 Low Power Tweed Twin and the tweed Champ do use eyeletboards, MM iron but cheap caps, average wiring, etc. The '59 Bassman reï, just like the brwonface and blackface reïssues are pcb-based altough the '64 Vibroverb custom mus...

Re: tweaking a '59 RI Bassman LTD

I've modded a couple of (lTd. and non ltd.) Bassman amplifiers for customers over here, mostly for a SRV-ish style sound just by modifying parts on the pcb. It's slightly more work than a eyeletboard amp but it's certainly possible. Here are a couple of tips: - lower the filtering for the 1st preamp...
