Spotted those IC markings .. Could they be a NC and used as a tie point ? I couldn't find an example of a Dumble with a cap across the standby switch, but assumed maybe you were talking about the cap across the OD and Mid boost switches. I tried a .1uf cap across the switch but it didn't help. I'll try replacing the switch next, but I dont think its the switch at fault. ...

I nicked off some of the gold foil on the outside of the power
transformer ( Weber t025130 -- for a 18w TMB) . The foil
is about one inch wide and runs down the middle of the case.



What exactly is this gold foil do ? and have I damaged this
device ?

Is there an easy way to figure out the amperage for the filaments? This would allow me to use the 6 volt with center tap for just the gz81 and have a standby switch. Thanks again!
