Re: SSS002 Deep Switch - Seriously

Okay, I can pop that in my build in minutes and I'm pretty sure I have the parts on hand. I'll let you know what I think when I hear it, thanks. Wow!!!!! I LOVE this mid boost! If it wasn't for Charlie Wilson's comment about the Deep switch, I would already have it ripped out and this Mid Boost ins...

Charlie Wilson wrote: Sun Apr 23, 2017 10:22 pmFinally, I really like the deep switch on a Low Plate Classic with the Strat. It sweetens up the high end and fills out the low end. I notice many people when they demo a Dumble with a Strat have the deep switch engaged (Doug Doppler). My $.02.

Re: SSS002 Deep Switch - Seriously

What about PAB? Did SRV have/use it? It's in the EJ amp right?

I tried it with the Skyliner and didn't like it. I'm going to try it with the Classic. Anybody try it?

Re: SSS002 Deep Switch - Seriously

In the beginning of this video you can see SRV switching from Jazz to Rock. https://youtu.be/Oi69EGRYCXQ In my opinion both jazz and FET are a bit of a waste of circutry Anyway when he goes to the switches both bright and deep are ON. In my opinion it sounds more like Mid but it's only my opinion F...

Re: SSS002 Deep Switch - Seriously

Krinkle, It's very subtle , I have it my new wonderland build and I can hear it working but it's subtle. If you look through my #124 build thread Martin Manning posted some frequency graphs which show what it does. I went backwards and forwards with the classic(that has the deep switch) and Skyiner...

Thanks for the reply B. For SRV are you talking the 183 mid boost?

SSS002 Deep Switch - Seriously

Does this thing actually do anything, I'm asking seriously and respectfully as I've encountered circuits like this before. I've traced the parts and wires in my build at least ten times now, looked at different versions/variations, tried them, still no effect. I've tried every combination of knob se...

Re: Steel String Singer 002 Build - 60Hz Hum - SOLVED

After scoping, shorting points in the circuit, and listening with my cab plugged in, I was able narrow it down to the 100pF cap at the gate of the FET. The high impedance there is a pretty good antenna in my tight Bassman conversion. Even though my PCB layout is good, IMHO, I still ended up having t...

Re: Synergy Royal Mustard

Dave Friedman is a big Sozo Nexgen supporter, if he says that the Synergy's are the Sozo's then I believe him.

Re: Wonderland/JM100 build

my only thought is it's not that loud for a 100w amp, going to check voltages now. I built an Express for my friend a few months back and I had the same thing, sounded good, just lower volume than I expected. I had heard about the old 470k/470R swap in the phase inverter of some amps. Double checke...

Re: WTB: ODS transformer set

[quote=pompeiisneaks post_id=371634 time=1492195566 user_id=16952]I'm personally not yet convinced that transformers have some magic in them, and that so long as the transformer can handle the current given, and has the right voltages, it should be fine, but if someone has some compelling proof I co...

Re: 100W SSS Build with Amplified Nation Chassis

I almost forgot, thanks to Martin Manning for the Filter Section idea, I've included it in my schematic and I'll change my Bassman mod soon to see how it sounds. I'm sure it will be great.
