Re: 2. ODS #183 build

If you're here in the states Heyboer makes several of them for 100 watt amps. For 50 watt amps most bigger Fender style with a rectifier circuit would work for relays.

Re: Wonderland/JM100 build

Fwiw, be careful you don't have any of your PT wire contacting the chassis coming up over the sides. I've repaired a couple amps built like that and it's a big, scary burned up mess if the wire wears through. You mat already have that covered and I just can't see it. If so, never mind. :)

Re: Custom Preamp Project

This is similar to what I did, but i mounted the boards Dumbleator style. Preamps can be tough with noise!I had to mess around with the grounding for quite a while. Shopping for a PCB house now for mine. I also did a passive and buffered output, with a full loop. Mine looks much more crude  Yo...

Re: #208 on ebay..

Here's a pic of #209, one # over this one. I had this amp on loan for a few months some years ago. It was part of a batch of 6 he built for a dealer in Chicago in the late '90's I believe. It's an HRM which I believe they all were. The two gut shots are from another HRM I had access to, either 210 o...

I wonder if that's a stereo loop box with the #II bright switch?

Re: Relay Issue?

Not had a bad relay per say but have had a poor connection with the relay board. I don't know how yours is connected but if using eyelets or turrets flow some solder under them maybe.

Re: Anyone Using .022uF Cap on Post OD Tone Control?

[quote="ayan"] At the end of the day, what really bothers me is that the real amps didn't need any bandaids like we're discussing here. :(

And that seems to be where we always end up doesn't it? :D

Re: What's up with Shad/Quinn Amps?

Yeah, I don't even know why I was there. TGP hasn't been a technical site for a while. I issued something of an apology but the OP proved me right in a later post to the Carol-Ann builder. He said he might be playing a Carol-Ann amp if he hadn't lost three grand on the Quinn three years ago. So my ...

Early '60's patent number pickups with the double black wires, wound between 7.6 and 8k with short A5's are as good as it gets for this. I love them!

Just go ahead and use the twin transformer or get Heyboer to build you to your spec with the screw spacing you need.

Re: TWO ROCK EMERALD PRO REVISITED 5 years later

I've done minor repairs to a couple of them and like the Bruno's if you never opened it up you would probably be pretty happy with the amps as a player.

It's been a while but I've had both Ruby and F&T 22uf caps in the past and they weren't the exact same size. Just sayin
