Re: Effect Pedal building
https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=17513.0 There is a very old (just discovered!!) thread on this forum that RG got going. The results are quite impressive. I have been getting Ge T's from Germany at a fair expense. This method is working for me on breadboard remarkably well. Giv...

Re: Effect Pedal building
Piggy back T's?? As we know the recipe for great Fuzz is the inclusion of Transistors that have the classic 80/120 - 90/130 hfe in that realm. RG has a great idea on piggybacking T's to get the proper hfe on Si T's so you can get that low hfe going. I just breadboarded the setup and wowza does it ev...

Trainwreck Airbrake
Hi, I have an Airbrake, built way back with the first group build. It is a great unit and works well with 8 ohm load into a 16 ohm cab, but I can also go 8/8. Am I safe using this on a 2x10 Tremolux 4 ohm cab? I see that the Z airbrake indicates that it can be used 4/8/16.
Thanks A

Re: Princeton Reverb B1270 - buzzing/crapping out
Yes do it all yourself. It's not a complicated amp. The closer you get to stock, the less problems, and authentic Fender tone is revealed. Have you checked for DC leak on the board? This can be an issue with various areas. I have pulled the bottom boards to discover blobs of solder, gunky wax and mo...

Re: Princeton Reverb B1270 - buzzing/crapping out
If it were mine I would re-build it. Brad over at Brad's guitar garage has done a number of full re-builds of these style amps. Given the mods and lots of questionable soldering areas, this just might be fun to take it back to stock. Get rid of the spaghetti wire, put in cloth, refresh caps, check t...

Re: Princeton build
Looking forward to clips. I built my own version of the Allen Encore (read VibroVerb), which also has the dwell control, and a reverb tone and a RAW (PAB) type control, and I added a PPIMV, as well as Trem. That amp is quite versatile and has a nice breakup. So the Encore has a number of similaritie...

Re: Princeton build
Great looking build Fred, any thoughts to implementing a PPIMV on this build?

Re: Manzamp - Revisited!
Ice-racer, it's a wonderful amp and of late I have been delving in. Unfortunately most of the old pics are gone, of your build. Any hope you can repost a few images of your final build. Great respect for your builds and tone your achieve.

Aaron, very interesting the way you dispensed with the twisted heaters. I take it no issues at all. Is that the extra girth of the wire you are using is carrying that current and rejecting hum.

Re: New Project
Hi Martin, wondering how the Champ project is faring? You stuck with the 6V6? Did you add a NFB
switch or pot? Looking forward to updates.
