Re: SSS002 cad and pcb

Thank you for posting these! I've never had PCBs made before. Is there a company anyone would recommend? Matt J. JLCPCB, PCBWAY, PCBWAVE. Local is also worth to check out but keep in mind that most small companies have them done in China anyway and are very expensive. I had good experience with JLC...

Re: #102 Layout (update)

Hi Tony,

At the time #102 was revealed one of the actual insider said: "Resistor feeding from the .005 OD2 cap is 150K and not 180K".
Also Brandon from Bludotone: "100K Feeding Drive pot, 150K feeding Ratio Pot"
Is this your personal observation or from someone who has been there?

Re: ODS Filtering Question

Fwiw #102 has both Plate and screen set up as precision (or totem style) for the power tubes. The last filter section is a can cap like #124. Anything that's on the B+ line has influence on the sound. Why members specifically have bad experiences with F&T is interesting. What has set them apart ,con...

easier to change a bad relay.
I never had a bad relay, I have had bad sockets after multiple in/out while testing.

Re: Dumbleator Build Questions

For a Dumblelator 1/16" (2mm) is more than suitable. Those Dumblelator boards are small compared to a full size ods board. If you are worried about flimsy boards with 1/16": add a mounting point where you think the board will flex or put a extra insulator board(same size underneath. Fwiw I used 1.5m...

Re: Dumbleator Build Questions

Hi Don,
you can make eyelet boards with FR4 material.
It is epoxy/glass fibre based and you need protection for both hands and breathing while drilling/sawing. I used to make them myself and without protection the glass fibre itched for months after.

I got a chance to check it out in person at The Ryman in Nashville on Thursday. Incredible show, incredible venue, incredible house mix! The crew couldn't...
