Anyone had the chance to start experimenting with this yet ?

Re: Filtering and Screens
Thanks Rob I’ve always read that screens should be less than the anode but still people did and still do make amps that seem to cross that line, I’m reading that it’s bad for the tubes life as much as any other reason (if I’ve got that right), what about the second question does the screen see the d...

Filtering and Screens
Hi all as the title says I’m trying to find out how these two interact, I’m working on my EL84 SE and I have 1k on the screens, when I first put this together I just went with another 1k dropping resistor (no choke) between the OT and the screen in the filtering, my intention was to lower the 1k dro...

Re: Wiring Pots ?
Thanks firestorm, that I understood, it turns out my eyes as well as my head aren't working so well, I forgot I had put a dumble-ish stack in there, I had a switch from a previous stack connecting pin 1 to the wiper or not, of coarse there's a cap on the bass pot that I had forgotten was there, so I...

Wiring Pots ?
Hi all I’m playing around with a SE thing and trying out different EQ styles and wondering why there not working so well only to discover there not wired correctly, could someone please explain to me why on schematics a bass pot for example is shown with the wiper connected to one or the other lugs ...

Re: Spitfire & Lightning schematics - screen supply
Just to pitch in to the debate about the schematic's, when I bought my transformers for a lightning I knew nothing about electronics or schematics, but a guy I knew at the time supposedly did, the place where I purchased the TXs said there was a mistake on the lightning schematics that he had seen a...

Re: Power supply with VVR Help Please
Hi John
Yeah I just drew the VVR as a block to show where in the circuit it would be, I think I'll put a couple of drain resistor one after D1 and another after D2, I'm not sure if it should be before the VVR or after though ?.
Thanks Mick

Power supply with VVR Help Please
Hi everyone I was wondering if you could take a look at a power supply schematic for a proto board I'm trying to put together, the idea is a single ended EL84 / 6V6 with VVR just for the power tube. http://www.twin-x.com/groupdiy/displayimage.php?pid=4640&fullsize=1 My concerns are have I got everyt...

Forgive me if I'm wrong but that AC15 schematic is using a EZ81, I don't think it should be wired to the 5v ?

Re: Line Level Input
Thanks for the replies Selloutrr sorry to be confusing the issue, I'm talking about a line level into an amp, what I was trying to convey is even into a console you can still loose some of the finer details of the POD that you can hear through a decent pair of headphone's with the POD's own phones o...

Re: Line Level Input
Thanks Selloutrr I've just been reading reports about those very amps, verdict is quite mixed, bottom line is A: don't have any money to spend on amp's and B: I do have a few DIY's (and some still to do) and thought I could add an extra Tube, jack (socket) and pot to them for power duty. Thing is ev...

Line Level Input
Hi all I don't really play much (if at all) live nowadays, but I do have get together's with all my musician friends, since the drummers have gone electric (kit) the volume has become soo much more manageable, the thing is amps don't get to their sweeter spots so most (including myself ) have gone o...

Tektronix T912 Schematic - manual
Hi guys just acquired a Tektronix T912 which seemed excellent however on the second power up it died and that smell of burning filled the air. I took the case apart and the only damage that was visible was a burnt out resistor, now I believe it's R478 next to C478 and has a diode VR476 in series wit...
