Re: 6G7A Bandmaster blonde export version '61
I've seen that tagstrip you mention on early 60s export amps. Suggest you join the Fender brownface amp appreciation group on FB. Lots of very knowledgeable guys there specialising in brownface amps. I'm not nearly experienced enough to comment.

Re: 6G6-B bassman chassis?
Yes, nice build! Marsh are out of stock and don't plan to re-stock for some months. Yes, TAD were the other supplier for the brown face plates I had in mind. The blackface chassis is a slightly different size and pot/input holes in wrong places (no bright switches on brown amps). I might try Seaside...

Re: 6G6-B bassman chassis?
Thanks. I have another source for faceplates too, but its getting the chassis that's the problem. I could only find blackface chassis on Mojotones site.

6G6-B bassman chassis?
Marsh don't seem to be selling these anymore, anyone know another supplier? Maybe also for face/back plates?
Thanks

volume drop on Princeton Reverb build?
Hi, I've built a couple of basic amps, but as my knowledge is still far from extensive, I'm having a PR built for me here in the UK, with larger than stock trannies, otherwise stock. I've just learned the builder, who is an experienced amp builder, is finding the output volume drops after a while wh...

Speaker upgrade for Vox AGA70 acoustic amp?
I don't post a lot, but enjoy all the 'D' and other threads on this forum. Members have helped me with info before, and I would appreciate some expert advice. I have the above amp for acoustic guitar, and for small, intimate gigs it is excellent, both tonewise and volume-wise.Unfortunately I let our...

Optional tube bias tremolo on Fender 6V6 or 6L6 amp
Someone raised this query on another forum, with not much response, but it caught my interest and I thought I'd raise it here. The hypothesis is to either a) change from stock to tube bias trem, or b) have a switchable otion of either type. I've built a couple of amps, but my theoretical knowledge i...

Re: Complete circuit/preamp tweaks for acoustic guitar pickup?
Thats interesting, I had a Wendler system installed in an archtop acoustic. Though I built my tweed deluxe clone, I was following a how-to article, so my theory knowledge is not extensive. Is the one tone knob/preamp similar to one channel of the tweed deluxe? Phase inverter, etc, similar to usual, ...

Complete circuit/preamp tweaks for acoustic guitar pickup?
I have several tube amps, VVT Lindy Fralin, SFDR, homebuilt Tweed Deluxe clone,Quinn octal Derby, etc. Can anyone point me towards a circuit for a tube acoustic amp? Or failing that some tweaks to, say, the SFDR preamp to match it up better with an acoustic pickup. The pickup is either a DiMarzio D1...

Re: Gibson Chet Atkins Tennessean pickup and wiring saga
Not wanting to hijack this thread, but are you selling the original Gibson pickups? I am interested in acquiring a 492R neck pickup, as fitted to this guitar as stock. What price are you looking for?
Thanks

frequency notch or shelf in amp design?
As you can tell from the question, I'm not too experienced in this field, though I have built a couple of simpler tube amps successfully. In discussions on various forums the comment has been made about amps having a shelf or notch frequency of 350 -400 for guitar and 1000 - 1500 for steel. Can some...

Standel 25 L15
Earlier this year in a TW v Badcat thread someone mentioned a kit for this type of amp being available shortly. Can anyone tell me if this is now available, and who makes it? I believe there was an old schematic for this amp on the internet, which I was also told is not correctly drawn. Even so, if ...
