Re: RENT A TRAINWRECK
So what happens when you re-solder the components back in place and it no longer sounds right when you fire it back up? What then? How does that component data help you? I think you are chasing ghosts... Both Allyn and Glen, and likely a couple of other guys here built amps that are nuts on exact du...

Triad FP40-300 wiring question
In an earlier thread, I asked about ways to come up with bias voltage in a 4xKT88 bass amp I am building, and someone suggested I use a Triad flatpack transformer. So it looked about perfect and I ordered it... Now I'm getting ready to wire it up and I'm confused with the directions for wiring up th...

Thats been often debated, but no consensus as to why Ken used such an oversized/rated resistor... But he was very consistent with doing so...

Re: RENT A TRAINWRECK
Be advised they will hold a deposit on the value of the amp while you have it. I'm also pretty sure that any evidence of opening the chassis will violate the rental terms and you might not get that deposit back... Ultrasound is a long time broker for Trainwreck and Komet sales - they are in pretty t...

Re: I need Mallorys
I generally use Mallory 150's or Zoso's in everything... Form factor more than anything, tho I do tend to subscribe to the "Orange Drops are too hi-fi" school.

Different Dave, different Fisher - X101B - but same tubes... I had Paul Ruby repair mine that had a blown PT - turns out the PT is remarkably similar to a JTM45 PT, so thats what we replaced it with, a Heyboer power tranny for a Marshall JTM45 - the end bells even fit correctly... 350-0-350 - gives ...
