Re: too much low end
jcsifu: I tried switching to the jazz setting (with OD on), and no issues at all with the low end. It's only with the Rock setting on OD. I'll keep working with it.
Thanks!

Re: too much low end
zippy: it's definitely not the strings in regard to the pickups. In fact, I've lowed the pickups on the low end quite a bit to try and solve this. talbany: I use a semi open back cab. I should mention that the issue is mainly with the OD. The clean isn't bad. But when I turn on the OD, that's when t...

Re: too much low end
Zippy: Yes, I tried adjusting the pickups (as it's like this on all guitars). But the low end is pretty overwhelming.
I thought I would ask because I didn't know if it would be a simple fix within the amp or something more detailed.

I don't know. I'm new at all of this. I'm asking to learn and understand.
Thanks.
Thanks.

too much low end
I have a Dumble clone - late 80's, non-HRM, Skyliner. It's not too dark. The high end is just fine. But the low end is too much. When I play the high E, B, G strings it sounds great. But on the A and low E strings the low end is way too much. I need to dial it back quite a bit. Just wondering how to...

nasal tone
As I've stated previously, I'm new to this (electronics). Sorry if my questions are a little stupid. One learns by asking.
Anyway, my amp (late 80's, non-HRM, Skyliner) is sounding a little nasal. Just wondering what could cause this. It didn't use to sound this way.

Re: chewy notes on D-style amps
I mentioned it because someone said that unless you use your guitar knobs, you weren't using a Dumble "correctly." So I was just pointing out the obvious.

Re: chewy notes on D-style amps
In another video that I can't find at the moment Larry does talk about how he likes to setup his amps so they optimize touch sensativity so that when he plays light it's cleanish and when he digs in it growls more. Here it is, found it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRShwn9bHhM In this video Larry...

Re: chewy notes on D-style amps
Everyone has an opinion. And that's fine. What I hear and like is different from what others hear and like. But what I have learned is, just because someone disagrees with your opinion doesn't make that person wrong - or that they don't use a Dumble "correctly." Offering suggestions is fine. I welco...

Re: chewy notes on D-style amps
I like that album as well, but as I said the album that captures the best Dumble tone is Mystic Mile because of the tone. But I do respect your opinion. :D Notice I didn't say I didn't like Robben's tone on Mysitc Mile. "The Quinn was a decent amp. I think Shad called it an SDOF1. It was his versio...

Re: chewy notes on D-style amps
I think I may relate to Tag, as far as the Dumble clone tone that I like which drove me to build a Dumble clone. The Robben Ford album, Mystic Mile, is my favorite Dumble tone which does include Politician. I like most of Robben's tone that he's gotten through the years. But my favorite tone is on ...
