Re: Just finish Express w/ tube recto
Interesting, I was wondering when someone was gonna try that! Are you using a 5AR4/GZ34?

Re: Deluxe Reverb RI - Making Reverb Usable???
Choco, I do not know how much of a difffernce the 10pf cap would make with a move to 470K as earlier AB763 reverb circuits used a 4.7M resistor along with the 10pf cap. FWIW- I still think the 1 meg pot would be the best option for what the OP wants to do...that is reducing the drive of the pan a bi...

Re: Ideas for a Fat PAB mod?
Nice collection of gear it looks like you guys had fun! Unfortunatley, I have no advice as I currently have a non-hrm. Out of curioustiy how did your non-hrm stack up? Also where did you get the plans for the 1x12 ported cabs?

Re: Deluxe Reverb RI - Making Reverb Usable???
You can change/replace the 1 meg resistor R26 in the reverb circuit with a 1 meg pot and dial in the amount of dwell you need. Find what you like and solder in a fixed value or mount the pot in the extra speaker jack.

Re: Question about strat tone through non hrm
That has been my opinion. I love the clean channel but the OD sounds "OK" with the Strat. My 335 copy sings with the amp. Mine is close to #124 values FWIW.

Re: Overtone Clip...
I agree with all the responses. The playing is great but the amp is not singing like it should. Maybe it is the speaker, I have two RWB's that do not sound dull but are by no means bright. I am looking forward to your clips with other speakers as I have toyed with the idea of getting some of the 126...

Re: John Mayers Tone
If I had to guess I would say his amp has fender plate and cathode resistors (100K/1K5)
FWIW- my amp is set up like #124 and I can nail that tone in the youtube video. (The one with his open tworock amp)

Re: Liverpool presence noise...
Some simple suggestions:
1. Put it in the headcab. My Express did this when not shielded.
2. Move it off the speaker cab.
3. Move the grid wire going to the volume pot around.
4. Step away from the amp!
Good luck!

Re: Two clean channels
FWIW - I think Bob-I did a three channel build as well and I am sure it is in the files section. You can use it and read through some of the related threads to get some ideas on how to mix the channels.
Sounds iteresting. Good luck!

Re: relay question
Worked on mine. If you need any help draw up a layout and post it I had the same questions and once you "get" how the relay works it becomes pretty simple to wire up. Good luck!

Steve,
Nice clean build!
One niggle though...those solder joints for the b+ feeds into the preamp board scare the shit out of me. I would personally make a good mechanical connection at those points, then solder.
Again, a great build!

Jochen,
That is one clean build! Great Job!
Now wash that magic marker off the back and correctly label the ohm selector switch!
