Re: What ohms is this 022889 transformer?
Thanks,,,I am not that sophisticated, but I have confirmed with several folks this is a 4 ohm tap only. I have been told the tranny with an 8 ohm tap actually has a different part #.

What ohms is this 022889 transformer?
Is this always a 4 ohm tap or did they make both a 4 and 8 ohm version? How do you check? Or is there any need to if they only made it in 4 ohms? Re: New Trainwreck Clip
built in mic=we dont know what the amp really sounds like and the tubes, the speakers, the pickups etc etc etc. I mentioned on another forum that he should take the time and do this properly so we can really EVALUATE this amp, but there is no way from how these clips are recorded.

Re: Picked up a Tungsram 12AX7A...
After a little research on the net, it looks like the tube is a Amperex/Phillips made in Austria on Mullard tooling. Anyway, it's a nice sounding tube. Correct. The Philips Mullard company had factories around the world. Tungsram also had plants elsewhere other than Hungary, so this is not the Hung...

Tungsram/EI
Very interesting guys, from ei and tungsram which one is brighter? Generally speaking the Tungsram will be a little brighter, but I do not consider these to be bright tubes, just compared to the pre-war EI. The pre-war EI are a long plate tube so they will tend to be a little warmer, creamier, and ...

NOS tube prices
Well, as a tube dealer I thought I would chime in here and discuss what determines the value. The price of the tube, in my opinion, is determined by not only the make and condition in its in, but also by the level of testing, and service which comes along with that tube so the end user is confident ...

800 euros which is approx $1,061 USD in todays rate. Regardless of who selected them this is stupid unless they were NOS GEC KT66 or GEC KT77 or GEC KT88, then that would be approx fair value. I disagree with structo on his pricing of RCA BP 6L6GC tubes as these sell for $400 per pair NOS NIB or $27...
